About this property

St Piran’s Point is a wildly romantic detached barn conversion in one of the most exceptional and breath-taking cliff top locations in North Cornwall, and offers an idyllic location and exceptional self-catering experience with sensational sea and coastal views coupled with a boutique interior making it a heavenly retreat at any time of year.

Located high on the cliffs between the seaside villages of Holywell Bay and Perranporth there are the spectacular sandy beaches of Ligger Bay, Penhale Corner (local beach below the cottage with excellent surf and much less crowded than neighbouring spots due to its limited access) and Perran Sands to explore to the West or Holywell Bay 15 minutes along the coast path to the East. St Piran’s Point is a rare find for silence seekers, bird-watchers, sky-gazers, ramblers, beachcombers and romantics as the property is located over half a mile from any public access roads and surrounded by 900 acres of land owned by the MOD and managed by Natural England, ensuring tranquillity and peace.

Inside luxurious simplicity and rustic charm combine in the airy open plan living space with vaulted ceilings and a huge picture window at one end with stunning, uninterrupted sea views of the spectacular coast. Decorated with colours reflecting the surrounding natural landscape the lounge area comes complete with a woodburner and sofa making it perfect for cuddling up on and an additional swivel chair for relaxing with a good book or catching up on the latest box set on the large TV.

The modern kitchen is stylish and fully equipped with everything you’ll need to create culinary masterpieces which you can then enjoy at the dining table – with jaw dropping view of the Cornish coastline - a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a lazy Sunday breakfast ahead of a day exploring the local scenery.

Sleeping will come easy in the pretty bedroom with a large window and sumptuous double bed draped with gorgeous white bed linens and an en-suite shower room with bath robes, thick fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries. A sliding door leads from the bedroom to the garden where there is a table and chairs – from which to enjoy the view and watch the last rays as you sip your sundowners.

The private gate at the side of the property provides direct access onto the South West Coast Path, which spans for miles in either direction, as well as down to the quieter end of the fantastic surfing beach of Perranporth. The heathland and dunes that surround are an area of SSSI; peregrine falcons and choughs regularly seen along with a tremendous variety of heathland fauna and flora. The village of Crantock is within easy reach, while Newquay is about five miles north; home of UK surf and with three major beaches to choose from, you can enjoy a range of watersports activities, as well as a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and attractions that include an aquarium and zoo. Head south on the coastal path towards the St Agnes Heritage Coastline to discover Perranporth, St Agnes, a selection of glorious beaches, the nearby Healey's Cyder Farm and various stunning lookout points along the way, where the best of the coastal views can be enjoyed. St Piran's Point is an utterly unique and romantic spot at any time of the year.

The seaside village of Holywell bay is located on the north Cornwall coast, with a fabulous beach and stunning dunes with rock pools for children to explore. Popular for surfers and body boarders, the beach enjoys large Atlantic swells. Pay a visit to the twin rocks, known as Gull Rocks or Carter’s Rocks, just off the coast and enjoy a selection of shops and pubs nearby, while a mile away the village of Cubert has a Post Office, stores, a bakery and café, village pub and restaurant. Newquay is just five miles away, recognised as the home of the UK’s surf scene, with a choice of three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf. There is also a shopping centre, zoo, SEA life Centre and selection of restaurants and pubs. Walkers can access the South West Coast Path, which passes in both directions along the stunning coastline of high cliffs, hidden coves and beaches.
