Tolcarne Beach is one of Newquay’s eleven beaches and is only a 4-minute walk from the front door of this spacious, beautifully refurbished family home. Situated on a quiet road, this holiday home has everything you will need from ample parking and an electric car charging point, to an enclosed garden with an outdoor kitchen where you can cook the fish you catch on one of the day boats that leave the nearby harbour daily.
The property has also been awarded a Customer Choice Award for the 5th year running and the games room, with table football, pool table and darts will keep everyone entertained. There is ample space for hanging wet suits and the downstairs shower room ideal for freshening up, ready to do it all again tomorrow! The beach has surf hire and a great bar/restaurant which sits right on the sand providing the perfect spot for the family in this Cornish coastal town. From Tolcarne Beach you can walk left into Newquay or turn right to walk to Lusty Glaze and into Porth Beach. A stunning walk, all the way along the beach when the tide is out.
Newquay is renowned for its surf culture and it never disappoints, with 50-year old surf shops offering body boarding, paddle boarding and sea kayaking, and plenty of surf schools and hire centres dotted around the bay. Newquay also offers tennis clubs, leisure centres and an indoor trampoline centre. Enjoy a short stroll from the house around the boating lakes in the nearby park which has plenty of cafés, or try horse riding along the banks of the Gannel Estuary. The shops, cafés, bars and restaurants of Newquay are a short stroll away. Why not try the coastal drive passing many secluded beaches, many of which are home to seals? Go past the coves and up to Padstow, a culinary centre with Michelin starred eateries and great fish and chips dotted along the narrow lanes that lead to the pretty harbour. Newquay has a great cinema, a theatre, many shops and a golf club overlooking Fistral Beach so there’s always something to occupy everyone. Beach 250 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Fantastic location as it was easily walkable to the beach. Bedrooms were comfortable. Kids enjoyed the games rooms. Water pressure was low if more than 1 person was having a shower. Enjoyed our stay and would use it again providing the price didnt go up

Had a lovely stay at Tolcarne Retreat with a family of 5 with 2 generations and a dog last week. House was excellently equipped for family stay, kitchen had everything for self catering and house was spacious for multi-generational families. Garden and outside space was perfect and the addition of the gas bbq made it home from home. The attention to detail especially the large fluffy towels and comfy beds was excellent. The house is perfectly placed for walks into Newquay, the beaches or pubs and restaurants. We booked Sunday carvery before we travelled @ Laherne at the bottom of the street, which was delicious. We had a good beach day @ Mawgan Porth with all amenities for a good day out. Healeys cider farm is worth a visit as is Padstow for the day. Recommend Tolcarne Retreat wholeheartedly.
