Roundhouse Cottage in Perranporth is praised for its peaceful, cosy atmosphere and excellent shower, making it a relaxing base for solo travellers and couples. Guests appreciate the quiet surroundings, car parking, and attractive outdoor area. While some found the walk to town and beach challenging, others enjoyed the location for exploring. There are mixed comments on cleanliness and comfort, with several noting the need for a new mattress and a more thorough clean. The kitchen is basic but functional, though some guests felt more utensils and equipment would be helpful.
Several guests noted issues such as dust, cobwebs, and a foisty aroma, while others found the property clean and tidy. The feedback is mixed, with some stays being satisfactory and others needing improvement.
The cottage is in a quiet, scenic spot, ideal for those seeking peace. However, the walk to town and the beach is steep and takes 25–35 minutes, which some found challenging, especially when returning uphill.
Guests found the cottage cosy and the bed warm, but multiple reviews mention the need for a new mattress and some discomfort. The shower is consistently praised for its quality.
Facilities are basic but adequate for a simple stay. Some guests noted a lack of kitchen utensils, cleaning equipment, and WiFi, while others appreciated the dishwasher and parking. Maintenance issues like chipped crockery and a rusty microwave were mentioned.

The cottage was cute, and ideal if you just wanted a base to go exploring. However, there was no WiFi unless you stepped outside and sat on a wall by swallow cottage. The kitchen was equipped to accommodate the most basic of needs, there was no frying pan (fried eggs done in a sauce pan was interesting). One of the 3 mugs was chipped and the crockery had seen some heavy handling. There was no cleaning equipment other than a hoover, tea towels, a dish cloth and sponge and while there was a dishwasher & tablets there was no need for it. The mattress was really uncomfortable and whilst tidy the whole place needed a good clean and some TLC. Shower was really good. We had to buy toilet rolls, washing up liquid, anti-bac wipes and stole salt & pepper sachets from the pub. A broom or dustpan and brush after a sandy beach day, and somewhere to hang beach towels to dry would have been useful. If you’re into walking the you’d love the 35 minute hilly walk to town but part of the main road is fast, and has high banks, so take care. Overall we enjoyed the experience.

The cottage looked beautiful on the outside. On walking into the cottage was hit by a foisty aroma. There was thick dust on the headboard. Cobwebs were everywhere even the legs of the sofa were covered. The bed needed a new mattress ended up with bad back ache. The duvet cover was torn. Not many utensils to cook with. Microwave was rusty. Cups were stained badly and plates chipped and mismatched. It was half hour walk to local amenities and the beach and a very steep hill coming back. No internet. On the plus side shower was great.

1st week in November 25 (Solo traveller) Aged 61Perfect, peaceful, with everything you need for an easy getaway, solo, or as a couple.I would say about a mile and a 1/4 walk to town, 1st half mile, quiet, steep lanes, but dark as time of year, but would be ok in summer.Phone signal not to bad, It is Cornwall after all 😃I paid less than £50 a night, and was value for money.Shower was excellent, bed was comfy, and warm.Down side - None. I had a great stay.👍
