Hunrosa is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and the added luxury of a hot tub. Guests appreciate the quiet location, ideal for exploring Cornwall, and the thoughtful touches like welcome gifts. While some minor issues were noted, the overall experience is highly regarded.
Most guests found Hunrosa to be clean and tidy, with only a couple of mentions of cleanliness issues upon arrival. The majority of reviews, however, reflect a high standard of cleanliness, contributing to a positive experience.
The location is generally appreciated for its tranquillity and centrality for exploring Cornwall. However, a few guests noted the lack of local amenities and the need for driving to attractions, which slightly affected the location score.
Guests consistently report that the beds and furniture are comfortable, and the lodge provides a peaceful and relaxing environment. The presence of a hot tub also significantly contributes to the comfort of the stay.
The lodge is equipped with modern appliances and amenities, including a well-stocked kitchen and a regularly maintained hot tub. Some guests mentioned issues with appliances and outdoor furniture, which leads to a slightly lower score in this category.
Many guests were delighted by the thoughtful gestures such as flowers, wine, and basic provisions upon arrival. While these gifts are highly appreciated, it is important to note that such extras are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

St Day was once the mining centre for mid-Cornwall until nearby Redruth took over the title, and you can still see the terraces of granite cottages originally built for the miners. The village was originally named after the little known Saint Day or Dye (better known in Brittany). The village now has a pub and convenience store, as well as a granite, gothic-style church dating back to 1828. Six miles away is the popular village of Portreath which attracts visitors from around the world with its wild and rugged coastline. High cliffs, secluded coves and sandy, surf-washed beaches typify the area while all around are reminders of the area's rich industrial heritage.
