It offers a pub serving food, a café, bakery, convenience store and petrol station with shop, while Roche has a larger selection of shops, a fish & chip shop, pub and attractions such as Roche Rock and the nearby Goss Moor National Nature Reserve, where you can explore its many trails as you wander through 480 hectacres of peatland and lowland heath. The historic town of Bodmin is just over six miles away, with a military history museum boasting 12,000 artefacts, the Bomdin Town Museum and the iconic and eerily haunting Bodmin Jail attraction. Just beyond here, the magnificent Bodmin Moor National Park can be reached, where you can enjoy scenic walking and cycling trails through rolling countryside and moorland and even spot wild grazing ponies on the hillside. Alternatively, take on the 18-mile challenge of the Camel Trail on bicycle, which follows a disused railway line and links Bodmin with Padstow and Wadebridge, encompassing some stunning Cornish rural scenery along the way.
