The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September.

The walk into Mevagissey is good but the return is challenging and its easier to take the car and find a car park. Everything in the house is well maintained and easy to use and there is plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Would I go back ? Yes of course.

My husband is allergic to many dog breeds and we couldn't tell dogs had previously been in the property at all, some elements are a little tired but it is very well cleaned between stays. We stayed for 2 weeks and they also brought us clean sheets and towels half way through. A great location for getting out in the car and exploring. 10 mins easy drive into St Austell for supplies and a 10 min walk and you are on the SW costal path. Lots of pretty villages to explore nearby too. note: The hill back up from the centre is not to be underestimated and at 25% not for the faint hearted, village car parks are free after 4pm so recommend driving down if going for a meal in the evening. Pentewan Sands beach (no dogs) is a quick 5 mins in the car so great for popping down for a bit of bodyboarding! The little village there is also very nice and best of all it's not overrun with dogs (as not allowed on holiday park), so was a favourite location for pub lunch and walks with our 4 legged companion. Polgooth Inn also worth a visit, incredibly dog friendly and the food was fabulous.
