The cleanliness of the property was far below what we expected. There were pet hairs everywhere â on the floors, furniture, and even on the beds. It was very clear that the linens hadnât been changed after a previous guest stayed there with pets. This was especially disappointing given that many reviews describe the place as spotless, but our experience was completely different. We also had an issue with the heating. On our first night, the heating was turned off and we ended up sleeping in what felt like a cold chamber. When we asked the owner not to turn the heating off during the night, he reacted by calling us temperamental and seemed quite annoyed. Because of that interaction, we didnât feel comfortable mentioning the cleanliness issues to him directly, even though he stayed nearby. Itâs a shame, because the property itself is a lovely little place in a great location. With improved cleaning standards and a more considerate approach to guest comfort, it could be a much more enjoyable stay

It was well appointed with everything you need to have a fantastic stay. Robert (the owner) was very friendly and helpful, he left a fantastic welcome pack and even baked a range of fresh scones for a midweek cream tea, which was very much appreciated. We were joined on our stay by some relatives who commented that they had had the best nights sleep for a long while. The property was spotless with lovely comfortable beds and crisp bedding. We all really enjoyed our stay and would definately recommend the property and love to return in the future.

Rob, the owner, is very friendly. The welcome treats and cream tea were a kind and thoughtful touch and were very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend it.
