The mediaeval estate of Cotehele and the tranquil village of Calstock where boat trips depart in the summer are both within a 15 minute drive and there are beautiful riverside footpaths that connect the two.

Kit Hill Country Park known for its fine views and birdwatching provides wonderful circular walks and the nearest beaches are at Seaton and Downderry, 16 miles. The St Mellion Golf and Country Club (handicap required) is a 10 minute drive. Plymouth can be reached by car in 30 minutes or a scenic railway journey on the Tamar Valley branch line from Gunnislake.
