About this property

Cobweb is a historical, Cornish fisherman's holiday cottage resting in Port Isaac and is well located in walking distance to the harbour slipway. With original features and coastal theme, this enchanting cottage is full of interesting nooks and crannies, a true glimpse into the history of these buildings. Step inside the front door walk into the sitting room which also features a wooden dining table and benches for feasts. The open fire is a welcoming way to warm your toes on the chillier days; light the fire and snuggle up with your loved one after an adventurous day out. From here, make your way through into the galley-style kitchen. Traditional slate flooring and beams have been retained and add plenty more character to the cottage, while upstairs showcases wooden floorboards with light decor and marine touches in decor. There is a double bedroom with a sash window to let the fresh air in and a further single bedroom with a sleigh style bed for recharging at night. Refresh yourselves in the bathroom which is light and airy with pale coloured tiling, providing a shower over the bath and window seat. Just outside is a delightful bench, perfect for enjoying a coffee in the sun before setting off on your day's events. Whether you choose to potter out the front door and into the meandering lane, soaking up the feel of the fishing village in the slipway, boutique shops and local eateries or venture further afield. Just around the corner from Port Isaac is the cove of Port Gaverne where you can snorkle or paddle. Further north on the coastal road takes you up towards a more rugged coastline and sands only visible at Tregardock and Trebarwith Strand. Take the road south from Port Isaac to the bays of Port Quin and Lundy which are smaller and quieter in the main season. Further afield lie the popular beaches of Polzeath; perfect for catching the waves on a surfboard. Be sure to visit St. Endellion farmshop on your way back to Port Isaac to stock up on local produce and perfect sneak in a cheeky cream tea. With so much to see and do in this picture-perfect area, choose Cobweb as your base any time of year.

The enchanting fishing village of Port Isaac is known for being a true Cornish Treasure due to its old village in the valley and picture-perfect fisherman's cottages. The area is a haven for holiday makers, with plenty of restaurants and eateries to fuel your excursions, as well quaint shops and a sandy harbour full of rock pools. Just a short drive away are the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, providing a lovely day out at any age.

..!! The whole cottage needs a good clean, dirty cups in the cupboard, water bottles and dust under the bed. The most uncomfortable double bed, I had to sleep in the single bed. Shower needs attention, very weak output. Fridge/Freezer needs defrosting. And finally, the saga with the dripping kitchen tap!! Appreciate the cottage is up for sale but as paying guest standards need to be maintained.

There was one or two issues such as a weak shower and a couple of light bulbs in need of replacing, but this did not detract from the charm and character of the property. The outside bench was the perfect place to sit and chat and absorb the local vibe. Highly recommended and a place we will most definitely return to.

the main attraction to stay at the cobweb was the bench, so we could sit outside and relax after along walk.
