Cribba sits quietly within the postcard-perfect fishing village of Port Isaac, offering a welcoming place to settle into Cornish life by the sea. Whether you’re travelling with family or friends, this inviting home provides a practical yet characterful base where days are shaped by salty air, coastal walks and good food shared around the table. Step inside and you’ll find a sitting room designed for easy evenings together, with a generous corner sofa, extra seating and a TV ready for film nights after a day outdoors. Natural light filters in through Velux windows, giving the space an airy feel. The kitchen and dining area is set up for proper holiday cooking, from simple breakfasts before heading out to hearty dinners enjoyed at the table.
With plenty of worktop space and a full range of appliances, it’s a room that naturally becomes part of the day’s rhythm. Upstairs, three bedrooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements, including a double, a twin and a bunk room that children will quickly claim as their own. A family bathroom upstairs and a ground-floor wet room with walk-in shower make life easy after beach trips and coastal adventures. Port Isaac itself is full of atmosphere and tradition. Wander down to the harbour to watch the boats come and go, explore the narrow winding streets that weave between whitewashed cottages, or enjoy local seafood in one of the village’s well-loved eateries.
Fans of television history will also enjoy spotting filming locations from Doc Martin as they explore. Nearby Polzeath is a favourite for energetic days by the sea. Spend time riding the waves on one of Cornwall’s most popular surfing beaches, follow the South West Coast Path for dramatic clifftop walks with far-reaching views, or simply enjoy a long afternoon on the sand with a picnic and a good book. Padstow offers a different flavour of Cornwall, combining working harbour life with a renowned food scene. Browse independent shops and galleries around the quayside, sample local produce in cafés and restaurants, cycle the scenic Camel Trail through countryside and estuary landscapes, or visit the National Lobster Hatchery to learn about marine conservation.
Cribba is a wonderful place to return to at the end of each day, ready to plan tomorrow’s adventures.
Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions, including the beautiful Lundy Bay, known for being the filming location of the hugely popular Doc Martin series. You may be lucky enough to see the infamous Fisherman's Friends performing on the Platt during the summer months singing traditional shanties. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
