About this property

Enjoying a peaceful position perched on Port Isaac’s cliffs, The Hideaway is a contemporary holiday home ideally located for a couple seeking to explore the coast and nearby quaint villages. Boasting reverse-level accommodation, The Hideaway benefits from a raised terrace and a private patio, and is neighbour to The Crows Nest, sharing an access path and able to be booked together to provide exceptional group accommodation for ten guests in total.

Following a day full of coastal walking, be welcomed into the first-floor open-plan living space to find a well-equipped fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area, offering several spots to relax whilst enjoying the company of your loved one. Retreat to the ground floor when night falls and find the elegant bedroom, featuring a king-size bed and served by a sleek shower room.

Back on the first floor, access the raised terrace to soak up the wondrous sea views, perfect for breakfast alfresco, whilst on the ground floor, French doors open out to a private patio area leading from the bedroom.

Stunning views and coastal walks are on your doorstep thanks to The Hideaway’s cliff-top location, lending itself well to adventurous visitors and those seeking to explore. Located mid-way between Port Gaverne Beach and Port Isaac means you’re within easy reach of the beach days as well as the delightful restaurants and pubs of Port Isaac, with beautiful views and good food in abundance. Nathan Outlaw has two restaurants in the village well worth visiting, whilst the harbour and beach are often frequented by the famed sea shanty singers ‘The Fisherman’s Friends’, so be sure to keep an eye and ear out for them!

Further afield are more North Cornwall gems including Wadebridge, Polzeath with its lovely beach, Padstow home to a charming harbour, and Rock, all easily accessible by car. The nearby Camel Trail is perfect for cycling, spanning 18-miles and largely traffic-free, it’s great for both seasoned cyclists and fun outings.

Whether you are looking for a beautiful base for exploring, or a quiet spot to relax and unwind, The Hideaway is a wonderful option for a couple’s getaway in breath-taking North Cornwall.

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.

Wasn't very clean unfortunately windows inside and out dirty window sills and lamps upstairs and down very dusty. Patio areas were very overgrown lacking in general maintenance. We had problems with the TV but that got sorted halfway thru our stay to be fair. Staying out of season we paid a fair price I would have been disappointed paying anymore no complaints about the property cleanliness and maintenance let's it down.

The Hideaway is perfectly located near a car park (with EV charging) and car parking can be paid via Just Park app for the full week too (shorter durations are available). The property was spotlessly clean and fully equipped, including glasses of all sizes. Wi-Fi worked for us 99% of the time and the TV worked fine too. The tiniest grumble we’d have, is that the sofa (it’s a sofa bed) isn’t the comfiest but as we spent most time outdoors we only used it minimally. Anyone sitting in all day, may find it uncomfortable. It was a short walk into Port Isaac and there are lovely places to eat near the property too. We would stay here again, it was perfect for our needs.

The cottage was beautiful but unfortunately let down by minor problems, the shower was dirty, not enough crockery, saucepans, cutlery, casserole dish etc
