Moonbeams in St. Ives offers stunning views and a great location, with spacious and comfortable accommodation ideal for large groups. Guests appreciate the ample parking, en-suite bedrooms, and the provision of beach towels and a welcome gift. Some maintenance issues have been noted, but these do not detract from the overall positive experience.
The property has been described as 'tired' with some cleanliness issues like cobwebs and dirty glass on patios. However, no widespread complaints about cleanliness inside the house were mentioned.
The location is consistently praised for its stunning views and proximity to the beach, main road, supermarket, and local attractions, making it an ideal spot for visitors.
Guests find the house very comfortable, with spacious rooms and plenty of space for a large family group. The provision of en-suite bathrooms and ample storage adds to the comfort level.
While the facilities are generally good, several reviews mention the need for maintenance, such as repairs to balcony tiles, drainage issues, and better lighting. The kitchen appliances also received some criticism.
Guests were pleased with thoughtful touches like beach towels and a welcome gift. However, as these are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than a standard provision.
Enjoying breath-taking views across the Cornish coastline in Carbis Bay is Moonbeams, a fabulous, five-bedroom holiday home. Offering flexible sleeping arrangements, and several outdoor areas enveloped by sea glimpses, Moonbeams is well-positioned near the beach and a hub of amenities, making it a wonderful choice for a family of ten or a group celebration. Park up on the sweeping, private driveway, before making your way indoors, firstly reaching the contemporary and spacious hallway. On the ground floor, be welcomed by a handy utility room where you can store your walking and outdoor equipment, a lovely conservatory, for casual dining and unwinding, housing a Smart TV, Xbox, PS2, and Wii, and three bedrooms, all with en-suites and suitable for those with limited mobility. Climb up to the first floor to be wowed by the open-plan living space, complete with a fully-equipped, sleek kitchen, a lofty dining table for ten guests, and a stylish sitting room with plush corner sofas and a gas fire. Step out onto the enclosed balcony for an alfresco affair, or head down to the rear decked area with a fresh cup of coffee in tow, to watch the sunrise over the coastline. As sleep calls, locate the final two bedrooms, a lovely king-size with en-suite, and a second-floor super-king-size with en-suite, benefitting from its own, private balcony; the best vantage point of the home. If you can tear yourself away from your luxurious abode, head down to the beach to dine at The Beach Club Restaurant, before following the Southwest Coast Path over to St Ives. Reach a hub of activity, where you can visit the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, people watch along St Ives harbour, tour the St. Ives Museum and the Tate St Ives, enjoy sea vistas at Porthgwidden Beach, or grab your walking boots for a hike up to Clodgy Point. Bird watchers will relish in the chance to visit the RSPB Hayle Estuary, with the Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall nearby, ideal for all the family, whilst Penzance Promenade is the perfect place for a bag of fish and chips, before touring Penlee House Gallery & Museum. Take to the beautiful coastline at Moonbeams.
Just a short drive from iconic St Ives, the seaside village of Carbis Bay is best-known for its beautiful stretch of pure white sand. With turquoise waters and sheltered conditions, the beach feels almost subtropical and is the perfect spot for a good old-fashioned day by the sea. The beach is also home to the Ocean Sports Centre, so if sunbathing is not really your thing, why not hire a kayak or SUP and get out on the water instead. Or why not treat yourself to a Spa Day at the delightful hotel which overlooks the beach and has a fabulous terrace where cocktails can be enjoyed in the Cornish sunshine? Carbis Bay has a small range of local shops and restaurants as well as a fish & chip takeaway and railway branch line. The train journey from Carbis Bay into St Ives is perhaps one of the most beautiful in the country; St Ives additionally makes for a great day out, with plenty of galleries to explore. The quayside town of Hayle also isn't far and is home to activities for the all the family, including a golf and a wildlife sanctuary. The Godrevy Nature Reserve and Penwith Heritage Coast are also within easy reach from Carbis Bay, providing outdoors and watersports plans with even more activities to partake in, including coasteering and birdwatching.
