About this property

St Ives 0.7 miles. Located up a quiet farm track in the hamlet of Hellesveor on the outskirts of St Ives is Turnstones, a fabulous reverse-level barn conversion. Accommodating four guests, and enjoying sea views and a large, sweeping garden, Turnstones sits in a tranquil, rural location on the edge of farmland, yet is only a short journey from the town with its host of amenities, attractions, and beaches - the ideal base for a Cornish getaway. Arrive to ample off-road parking for two cars. Head up the garden path into the house, where you will enter the beamed and oak-floored dining area for four, and the well-equipped kitchen. There are two spacious ground-floor bedrooms, one with king-size bed, en-suite shower room and large feature window, the other with French windows leading to the patio, and a zip-&-link super-king bed which can also be made up as a twin. Next to this is a bright, contemporary family bathroom. Up the oak staircase is a spacious sitting room with a woodburning stove, wonderful local artwork, and fantastic views over the fields to the sea and Godrevy Lighthouse. Open the upper stable door and take in the view, or head down the granite steps into the large garden. If you'd prefer to dine alfresco, you can enjoy the patio area to the rear, which enjoys sea glimpses and countryside vistas, or sit on the bench at the top of the garden near the miniature standing stone circle with a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Turn right out of the property and walk up the (sometimes muddy) farm track to the coast path, where you can turn right and head to St. Ives, or take the much longer but breath-taking route left along the coast to the picturesque village of Zennor. Enjoy a pint and a bite to eat at the Tinners’ Arms and either walk back along the coast or inland path, or for those who have had enough walking for one day, catch the bus back! Explore St Ives with its independent shops, eateries, art galleries and picturesque vantage points, tour the Tate St Ives, explore the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, climb up to St Ives Head, or enjoy a stroll along one of the beautiful beaches. Board one of the local boats for a trip along the stunning coastline to Seal Island, home of the local Grey Seal colony. You may want to head further afield to explore Penzance, St. Just or Cape Cornwall, or the wide, sandy beaches near Hayle – or perhaps you’ll decide to stay local and experience all that St. Ives and its surroundings has to offer.

St. Ives, one of Cornwall's most charming harbour towns, is home to the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum, as well as wonderful beaches, outstanding shops, a vibrant community of artists, fantastic pubs, and restaurants, and more. It is simple to understand why this is the county's top vacation destination with its semi-bohemian lifestyle and romantic atmosphere. There is a lot to see and do in the neighbourhood, including easy access to the Celtic secrets of the Land's End Peninsula, fantastic coastal hikes, world-class surfing, and an abundance of wildlife; a wonderful location!
