The Downalong area of St Ives is popular with holiday makers due to its abundance of fishermen's cottages which line the cobbled streets and its close proximity to the three main beaches of St. Ives: Porthgwidden - a smaller family beach just 30 seconds from the house; Porthmeor – offering rock pools and popular for water sports such as surfing; and, Harbour beach – a soft sandy beach sheltered from prevailing winds by the thick harbour walls.
St Ives is a beautiful town with award-winning golden sands and clear sea, narrow streets and lanes, galleries and craft shops alongside modern restaurants and cafes. The bustling harbour is home to many fishing boats that bring in quality catches of local fish that you will find in many of the restaurants.

...here 3 times and I'm sure we will be back again. The cottage is well equipped and has everything you need. Very clean. Lisa was very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely holiday. We love this cottage because it has 3 super beaches within a couple of minutes walking distance. The Tate and Barbara Hepworth garden are fantastic too. Submitted by John on 18/08/2017
