A complimentary welcome hamper will be awaiting you on your arrival containing milk, tea, fresh coffee, bread, butter, eggs, juice, wine and cheese, along with other essential items to prepare a light snack or breakfast. There may be some regional variations.

Higher Pempwell Barn is a self-catering holiday cottage situated in an idyllic hamlet on the edge of the stunning Tamar Valley in Cornwall. The River Tamar is one of the most beautiful rivers in Britain, marking the boundary between Devon and Cornwall. Flanked by ancient woodland along lengthy stretches, the river also provides rare habitat for wildlife and is one of the UK's designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With the vast landscape of both Bodmin and Dartmoor within 20 minutes reach, and the north and south coast and The Eden Project only 40 minutes away, this peaceful location is ideal both for those after a quiet retreat, and those seeking adventure. Several Cornish National Trust properties, open gardens and numerous family attractions are within easy reach, as well as fabulous walks and outdoor activities right on the doorstep, including canoeing, walking, riding, sailing, river cruises and two championship golf courses within 20 minutes.

Both the local Post Office and the pub are only two miles away. The Post Office stocks a large range of local produce and the pub offers superb locally produced meals and is situated next to the river.

The luxury Grade II listed granite and slate holiday barn has been converted to a very high specification and offers modern accommodation in the heart of the Cornish countryside. A separate games room (please note that access to this is across a small quiet road) for guests' exclusive use provides table tennis and table football tables amd a wide range of children's toys and games. Outside is a parking area and small garden overlooking open fields with a lawn, sitting area and barbecue.
