The local area is a paradise for walkers, with mile upon mile of coastal footpath to explore. There are also several championship golf courses nearby, as well as Tintagel with its brand new bridge to access its famed castle ruins, and some of the prettiest picture postcard villages in Cornwall including popular Port Isaac, the setting for ITV's Doc Martin. Just a short amble from the cottage are two lovely village pubs, one of which (The Port William) offers wonderful panoramic views of the cliffs and beach below. Trebarwith Strand is a small hamlet just 2 miles south west of Tintagel. With just a few dwellings and a country pub, this beach side community provides a great magnet for surfers and coastal path walkers. With majestic scenery, high cliffs and rocky coves to explore it's the perfect holiday retreat, while Tintagel with King Arthur's castle, a selection of cafes and restaurants and an old Post Office is just one mile away over the cliff tops. The area is perfect for exploring the major surfing beaches to the south as well as the open spaces of Bodmin Moor just 10 miles to the east. The major beach resort of Bude is 19 miles away while Boscastle with its quaint harbour and pottery is just 5 miles away. Newquay, the Eden Project and the cathedral city of Truro can all be reached within 60 minutes by car.
