About this property

Camelot is a beautifully-presented holiday home settled in the coastal village of Tintagel, Cornwall. This five-bedroom, contemporary home has spectacular views of the ancient castle and is just paces away from a beach, an idyllic setting for families and friends, as well as multi-generational families due to the location of the back bedroom being set away from the main living area and on the ground floor. The open-plan living space is light and airy with plush sofas, where you can watch films on cloudy days or sit back and admire the far-reaching views. Step over to the fully fitted kitchen, hosting an island to prepare home-cooked meals with an electric range cooker, hob, and microwave to assist you. Gather at the dining table to enjoy mealtimes together or savour the sea-breeze outside on the patio with an alfresco affair. When the sky darkens, head indoors and make use of the games room, hosting a pool table, a TV and seating area. The ground-floor has three bedrooms, two doubles with en-suites, one with a TV, a family bedroom with a triple bunk, a single, a TV and a shower room. Venture upstairs to discover a double and a twin bedroom, with beautiful views over Tintagel, which are serviced by a sleek shower room. The village of Tintagel is positioned on the rugged coast, which is home the National Trust - Tintagel Old Post Office, convenience stores to stock up on the essentials and charming pubs to treat your loved ones. Visit the remains of Tintagel Castle, known as the birthplace of King Arthur, browse the unique Tintagel Toy Museum or embark on adventure along the coastal path for exceptional views. Within easy reach is the peaceful spot of St Nectan's Waterfall, Davidstow Airfield and Cornwall at War Museum to immerse yourself in the past and Hidden Valley for a day filled with fun. All this and more awaits at Camelot.

The renowned, picturesque village of Tintern nestles peacefully beside the River Wye, at the heart of the beautiful Wye Valley, between the lovely market towns of Chepstow and Monmouth. Tintern is famous for its magnificent, 12th century Abbey, with its romantic, arched remains highly regarded as one of the finest relics of Britain's Monastic age. The village also provides an array of excellent pubs and shops as well as an award-winning vineyard offering tours and tastings! The stunning countryside of the nearby Forest of Dean (with the famous Puzzlewood only 8.5 miles away) and Offa's Dyke provide excellent walking, cycling, fishing and nature watching opportunities. Also close by is the National Diving and Activity Centre, where they run diving courses, as well as having a 700-metre zip wire. Visit the historic walled town of Chepstow with its impressive Norman Castle and the celebrated Chepstow Racecourse, whilst the pretty market town of Monmouth, with its stunning stone-gated bridge, is within a short drive. Hay-on-Wye, with the annual Hay Festival is just over an hour's drive and Cheltenham Racecourse is also just over an hour away. An ideal location for a varied and enjoyable holiday, at any time of the year.

The view from Camelot is amazing; such a wonderful position. The accommodation was airy, comfortable and a great place to entertain and perfect for a family get together. Correspondence with the owners was prompt and very helpful, thank-you. Would highly recommend staying at Camelot and would love to return at some point in the future. Thank-you. Just a few minor points for the owners. On arrival at Camelot, first impressions: - There is building work going on next door (we were aware of this at the booking stage) which didn’t affect us at all but there is a partition fence with a gap at the bottom and an approximately 2 metre drop the other side so be careful of your footing getting out of your car on that side especially in the dark. - The step up onto the patio was a little high for the older members of the group. - On walking around the back of the property to collect the key from the safe box I was a little disappointed with the presentation of the entrance - the bins and lots of bottles left for the refuge collection (maybe section this area off). The front door was covered in spiders webs, spiders, marks and lots of weeds on the pathway. However, we did not use this entrance from that point on and once inside the property we were blown away with its cleanliness, decor and views.

The step at the front of the property is too high for the elderly. On arrival we discovered damp bedding in the dryer. Maintenance of furniture is required i.e. sofa and bedroom unit drawers. Cooker instructions would be useful. Blinds/curtains at the windows required along with an umbrella for shade in the garden and hooks on the bedroom/bathroom doors. Larger towels needed. Better use could be made of cupboard storage for cleaning equipment. We took care of our rubbish but discovered previous occupiers had put their bottles in the wrong bin, as we are all over 70 years of age we had no intention of swapping their bottles to the correct bin. the owners should ensure that this is done as the refuse men will not take bottles from the wrong bin. So much could have been better about our stay and it is with disappointment that I leave this feedback.
