Parwin is a well-maintained and spacious cottage in Cornwall, praised for its ideal location near Trebarwith Strand and the North Cornwall coast path. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms, and cosy living spaces. While parking can be challenging, the property's charm and proximity to local attractions make it a desirable holiday rental.
The cottage is generally described as clean and well-maintained, with several guests noting the cleanliness of the bathrooms and kitchen. However, a few guests mentioned issues with odours and pet smells, slightly affecting the score.
The location is highly praised for its proximity to beaches, coastal paths, and local towns. The scenic and quiet setting is appreciated, although the narrow village roads and parking difficulties are noted.
Guests find the cottage cosy and the kitchen/diner space comfortable for gatherings. However, some guests mention that the mattresses are thin and beds springy, affecting the comfort level, especially in certain rooms.
The property is equipped to a high standard with a well-stocked kitchen and good showers. Issues with WiFi, boiler pressure, and bed maintenance are mentioned, indicating room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
While guests express overall satisfaction with their stay, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.
Located in the peaceful hamlet of Treknow, Parwin is a charming cottage, just half a mile from the rugged north Cornish coast near Tintagel. Full of character, it has been carefully renovated and offers a comfortable stay in this beautiful part of Cornwall. Approached via five steep stone steps (with a rope handrail), the entrance hall leads to a cosy sitting room furnished with comfy, squashy sofas and a warming wood burner; the perfect place to snuggle up after a day out walking the coast path. The pretty, pale blue country kitchen diner offers a wonderful place to gather at meal times, and provides direct access to the courtyard garden.
Two king size rooms (one on the ground floor with an en-suite shower room) and two twins provide flexible accommodation for friends and family holidaying together. The courtyard garden to the rear of the cottage is a lovely spot for a barbecue; sheltered and enclosed, it is a real suntrap and a great asset for those with children and pets. The patio courtyard has a drop of 2.5 ft to the BBQ therefore toddlers need supervision. Out and about, there is much to see and do; don't forget to pack your beach towel, and stroll down to the beach at Trebarwith.
With lifeguard service and a surf school during the summer months, this beach is very popular with families, and allows dogs throughout the year. The local area is a ramblers paradise, with mile upon mile of coastal footpath to explore, as well as the wild and romantic Bodmin Moor just a short drive away. There are also several championship golf courses nearby, as well as Tintagel Castle and a number of quintessentially Cornish harbour villages including Port Isaac, the setting for ITV's Doc Martin. Just a short distance from the cottage are two lovely village pubs, one of which (The Port William) offers wonderful panoramic views of the cliffs and beach below.
Trebarwith Strand is an unspoilt cove on the north coast of Cornwall. A small hamlet just 2 miles south west of Tintagel, it has just a few dwellings and a country pub. This beach side community provides a great magnet for surfers and coastal path walkers. With majestic scenery, high cliffs and rocky coves to explore it's the perfect holiday retreat, while Tintagel with King Arthur's castle, a selection of cafes and restaurants and an old Post Office is just one mile away over the cliff tops. The area is perfect for exploring the major surfing beaches to the south as well as the open spaces of Bodmin Moor just 10 miles to the east. The major beach resort of Bude is 12 miles away while Boscastle with its quaint harbour and pottery is just 4 miles away. Newquay, the Eden Project and the cathedral city of Truro can all be reached within 40 minutes by car.

Only minor issues were no bin liners at all, no scissors and no oven gloves. Also on the Sykes booking site we have a picture of grass in front of the property which turned out to be next doors grass. To be honest if we knew the property had no grass for our dog I believe we wouldn't have booked this property.

Comfort levels and standard of all appliances was excellent. Sat Nav was not much help but locals guided us there. Parking was difficult but not usually a problem though one neighbour complained even though we were parked immediately outside Parvin. We would stay there again and thoroughly recommend it to others.

I first stayed here 50 years ago, in 1975, with my parents and maternal grandparents when I was just six years old. Returning this June brought back so many happy memories â and to my delight, some of the wooden furniture upstairs may well be the same as it was back then, still in beautiful condition. The location is perfect: just a short walk to the stunning beach at Trebarwith Strand, ideal for coastal walks with breathtaking views, and only a stoneâs throw from historic Tintagel. The cottage itself is full of character and warmth, making it feel like a real home from home. For anyone who loves the Cornish coast, history, and a touch of nostalgia, this is the perfect place to stay. I left with my heart full and my mind already planning my next visit. Sadly I have seen it is up for sale.
