About this property

Overlooking far-reaching countryside views is this traditional stone cottage in a converted barn. Caer is the perfect destination for a small group to explore the Cornish coast in a calming setting. The property's front lawn offers a spacious and picturesque welcome, with lush green lawns and short pebble walls with panoramic views reaching all the way to the sea. The inside of Caer is an absolute feast for the eyes, with every feature precisely contrasted between quirky decor and contemporary furnishings, whilst keeping the cottage's traditional character. Find the stylish living room/diner, boasting original black beams found above a homely corner sofa, placed in front of the classic woodburning stove and Smart TV, and just behind is dining seating for four people to enjoy home-cooked meals in this incredibly restful and chic room.

Through an old beam archway is the contemporary kitchen, equipped with an impressive range cooker with a oven, grill, and 5-ring gas hob. Upstairs is even more of a treat, both bedrooms benefit from sloped ceilings and beams, keeping to the original character, the spacious super-king-size room enjoys a delightful Juliette balcony with striking views of the River Tamar as well as a regal chandelier, and the twin room looks out onto the nearby village. Experience ultimate relaxation in the family bathroom, fitted with a double walk-in shower, a vanity mirror, heated towel rail, and a fabulous bath integrated in with the tiled walling.

Dine alfresco in the charming outdoor courtyard, featuring exposed stone, lovely plants, and a snug seating area where you can spend an evening gazing at the stars with a bottle of wine. This peaceful cottage overlooks the stunning countryside views on the edge of Crafthole, a historic village where you can stock up on your essentials at the village shop, and make sure to visit the Finnygook Inn, a wonderful pub and restaurant which offers scrumptious cakes, live music, and breath-taking views over the valley to the St. Germans River. Portwrinkle lies just behind the village centre, home to two sandy beaches and a harbour along the popular Whitsand Bay, a true hidden gem where you can spend a day strolling along rock pools up to Rame Head or try your luck at riding the waves with fellow surfers.

Venture over to Looe, home to historic attractions including St Michael's Chapel Of Lamanna, the Old Guildhall Museum, as well as a fun day out at the Monkey Sanctuary, founded by the family of famous guitarist, John Williams. Wander over to Seaton, a fabulous seaside town where you can explore the Seaton Valley Countryside Park, and the delightful sheltered beach. Plymouth is a short journey away, a bustling location, filled with shops, bars, restaurants, museums, and lots of attractions. Caer is a traditional cottage, ideal for a group Cornish getaway in a hidden gem location.

Crafthole is a small village located in Southeast Cornwall’s Rame Peninsuala among the Sheviock parish, home to a shop, pub, Post Office, chapel and village hall. The village used to be famous for smuggling rum from Portwrinkle Harbour, a nearby coastal village where you can visit Whitsand Bay, a popular Cornish attraction. Other villages and towns worth visiting include Millbrook, Downderry, Looe, Antony, and the city of Plymouth. Crafthole is a peaceful base to discover the fantastic Cornish coast.
