2 Porthilly Cottages is a lovely pet-friendly property in the village of Rock, situated in the popular county of Cornwall. This fabulous cottage is ideal for a family or a group of friends looking for a getaway, as it boasts close proximity to the beach, shops, and the Mariners pub, all within easy walking distance, as well as a private courtyard garden. Do note that parking can be limited in high season, so once you're settled in, you may find it easier to explore on foot or by ferry. Walk along the slate path and down some steps before entering your new holiday abode.

Kick off your shoes, then walk through to the heart of the home, which is the living and dining room. Sit back on the corner sofa and indulge yourself in your new surroundings. In the kitchen area, you will find all you need for a great self-catered stay. Use the electric oven and hob to cook a delicious meal, then plate it up on the dining table. If the sun is shining, then head out into the front courtyard garden to dine alfresco. Wash your dinner down with a drink or two and soak up the fresh air. For some evening entertainment, once the sun has set, find something for everyone on the Smart TV or pick out a book to read for a more peaceful night.

When you can sense a yawn coming along, then call it a night and head up to either the double or twin bedroom. After you’re refreshed from a shower on the ground floor, gather everyone at the breakfast bar to plan ahead for the rest of the day. A shop and a pub are just a short stroll away for any essentials or a meal out. For a day of fun, head down the hill to Porthilly Cove and Porthilly Beach, or walk across to Rock Beach and Daymer Bay. St Enodoc’s Church is another peaceful spot, accessed via the beach or through the nearby golf course.

From Rock, you can hop on the ferry across to Padstow, where you’ll find harbour views, independent shops, and the start of the scenic Camel Trail, a five-mile route to Wadebridge that’s ideal for walking or cycling. If you're up for exploring further afield, discover the cliff-backed beauty of Polzeath Beach, the dramatic headland at Pentire Point, or the picture-postcard fishing village of Port Isaac. Nature lovers might enjoy a day wandering through Cardinham Woods, while those with a taste for the theatrical can book ahead for a performance at the iconic Minack Theatre, perched on the cliffs near Penzance. Rock is a desirable and much sought after coastal village located on the north eastern bank of the River Camel opposite the famous harbour town of Padstow which is easily reached by a regular ferry service. The summer home of royalty and celebrities offering top class restaurants and quality shops, the real draw is the array of watersports including sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and angling. Continuing on a sporting theme, the golf course at nearby St Enodoc is considered to be one of the best in the country. With an abundance of world class beaches all within a short radius it is easy to see why Rock holds its popularity.
