Harvey Cottage is a charming, well-equipped and spacious property in the heart of Colyton, praised for its cleanliness, comfort, and excellent location for exploring East Devon. Guests appreciate the peaceful setting, thoughtful touches, and proximity to local amenities. While parking can be a challenge due to the narrow street, most found nearby solutions. Some mention a dated decor and occasional musty smell, but overall, the cottage offers a cosy and welcoming stay ideal for families and couples alike.
The majority of guests found the cottage spotlessly clean and tidy, with only a couple of mentions of a musty smell or dampness, likely due to the age of the property. No significant issues with cleanliness were reported.
The location is highly praised for its central position in Colyton, easy access to local shops, pubs, and walks, and as a great base for exploring the coast and countryside. The only drawback noted is the lack of immediate parking.
Guests consistently describe the cottage as comfortable, cosy, and spacious, with good beds and a peaceful atmosphere. A few minor comments about decor being dated and a musty smell were noted, but did not detract from overall comfort.
The cottage is well equipped, especially the kitchen, and includes useful amenities such as a high chair and clear instructions. Minor issues included a lack of large saucepans, a hand-held shower, and occasional maintenance needs, all resolved quickly by the host.
