Close to Exmoor National Park
Shared use of 30-acres of unspoilt garden. Set in the Exe Valley and very accessible from major roads, these three beautiful properties all offer the perfect holiday retreat. All or part of the complex can be booked for large groups, parties or family gatherings. It would make an ideal venue for a wedding, with facilities allowing up to 130 guests to attend, by arrangement. They each have their individual character including beams and most with wood burners. This fantastic property sleeps 43 guests across 16 bedrooms all accessed via five different staircases ensuring you have some privacy whilst still being able to gather together for celebrations in the living areas. Catering and a chef is available to be booked directly with the owner.
With the River Exe, Devonshire Heartland, Somerset and the North Devon coastline on your doorstep, the properties are situated in an excellent countryside location offering a good base to explore the beautiful area and are within easy driving distance of Exmoor National Park and the Devon and Somerset border. Golf, horse riding, cycling and fishing are available locally, along with clay pigeon shooting and fly fishing. Take a stroll next to the river in the 20 acre grounds. Alternatively, there are many delightful, scenic countryside walks nearby including the spectacular scenic coast between Minehead and Combe Martin. Tiverton, 7 miles, offers a selection of shops, restaurants and pubs as well as the famous Grand Western Canal and Bickleigh Castle.
The nearest coast with sandy beaches and family attractions including Somerset World and West Somerset scenic steam railway is at the seaside resort of Minehead. The medieval town of Dunster with its magnificent castle, deer park and mill, and the historic cathedral city of Exeter with its variety of shops, restaurants, theatres, racecourse and the Maritime Museum, are both 20 miles away. Delightful Bickleigh, 8 miles, has lovely, thatched inns overlooking the river, and serving good food and local ales - the perfect location to get away from it all.
Taunton, Ilfracombe, Sidmouth, Seaton and Exmouth are within easy driving distance. National Trust properties within easy reach include Knightshayes Court, Powderham Castle and Castle Drogo to name a few. Brampton is 2 miles away, and sailing is available at nearby Wimbleball Lake. Shop 1½ miles, pubs 2 miles.

Our family weekend away at Duvale Barn was great. We found it tricky finding somewhere which catered to a big size (41 of us in total) so was excited to see Duvale Barn and it was a great match. Enough bedrooms for everyone (including en-suites), as well as living areas and kitchens for a comfortable stay. We managed group games in the big lounge but also time individually.The place was very clean - ideal when we had a busy weekend as no need to clean anything beforehand. We felt like the place was well looked afterIt was also well equipped. We didn’t need to bring much with us, as there was enough utilities, en-suites, and plenty of parking. The highlight was the play area outside for the kids who loved it! We had 3 babies under 2, so not having to pack our own high chairs and cots was handy as these were provided and good quality.The owners were helpful and great communicators. Helping us beforehand and meeting us there to explain.Overall, we loved our stay. Our family age ranged from 9 months to 74 years old and it was a great fit for the whole family. We’ve already mentioned returning in our future family holidays

We had a brilliant time away with family and friends for my wife's 30th. The property is in a stunning location and had plenty of space for our large group. The host was really friendly and was always on the end of the phone if help was needed. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Our hostess was very hands on and we had great communication with her.The property was absolutely perfect for our party of 32 .it’s very spacious with every type of equipment that we needed. The garden was great at the rear with the new climbing frame which the children loved. And it was fully enclosed.We were lucky with the weather and were able to sit at the front of the property on comfortable garden furniture and it was great having the hot tub . We were allowed to arrive earlier than advertised which was great .On the Sunday the group split up and some went to the coast, some to the miniature railway , some to Dunster and some stayed at the property to enjoy the hot tub. Great to have lots of places to go and ideal for large groups of people.We are hoping we will be able to return next year .
