TallTrees is a beautiful purpose built contemporary detached lodge that occupies a private part of the owner’s vast grounds with lovely far reaching views across the meadows. Guests of this site adore the beautiful location and especially the quietness and dark starry night skies that can be enjoyed from the decking and luxurious private hot tub. There are also plentiful grass areas to roam around in and a pleasant pond nearby.
Available to book with two other properties on-site, this lodge is extremely well appointed and spacious and the quality inside is not the norm expected from a holiday lodge. This is the perfect location for families or friends looking for a peaceful retreat for a holiday or celebrating a special occasion and the perfect spot for those looking to explore the wider surrounding area. Inside you’ll find three bedrooms, a king size and a bunk room on the ground floor, and a lovely gallery-style kingsize (but with a door and glazing) with en-suite shower room on the first floor that overlooks the open plan living areas downstairs. The lounge area has a smart TV, cosy wood burner, bluetooth speakers in the ceiling and bi-fold patio doors leading out onto the decking with countryside views, and the kitchen area has all you’ll need for your stay including a washing machine, dishwasher and large retro style fridge/freezer, plus additional patio doors leading out to the side decking area where you’ll find a table and chairs perfect for a peaceful summer’s breakfast with those amazing views. Ample private parking is available just by the lodge which is accessed by a meandering tree-lined driveway.
Close by are the Grand Western Canal and Country Park, offering boat trips and great walking and cycling. And there’s Knighthayes National Trust, just 3 miles away. Being conveniently located for the M5 motorway, the property is within easy reach by car of Exmoor’s seaside resorts, amazing Dartmoor National Park, the city of Exeter with its stunning cathedral and south coast towns. And via the A361 the famous North Devon coastal surfing beaches (some of the best in the UK) are all easily accessible too and just an hour or so away.

We found Tall Trees to be lovely and quiet, the walks we did around the area were very pleasant. The property was fully equip of kitchen items, board games and DVD's & player. Can't wait to return

Gorgeous lodge, very well equipped and lovely peaceful surroundings. We felt Heather the host was in a bit of a rush when we arrived at 4.45pm. She seemed to quickly tell us how to take the lid off the hot tub and switch it on/off and then quickly what to do with the log burner, then she was gone! We had to figure out what the wifi password was, nothing in the info book. The router was on the wall in the stairwell and wasn't even switched on, the pw is stuck on it. Didn't know about the Bluetooth speakers which again we stumbled across. No hot water the first morning/day (boiler fault), when we messaged Heather she called me straight away and said she was out so we had to look around in the utility cupboard, moving a shelf unit out the way to switch the emersion tank on which gave us hot water the NEXT morning. Overall a lovely place for a quiet retreat but would have like a bit more info from the host.

We had a fantastic stay celebrating a 40th birthday at this lovely cottage. The lodge was beautifully presented, with thoughtful attention to detail that made it feel warm and homely from the moment we arrived. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the showers were excellent—always a bonus after a long day out.The views across the farm were absolutely stunning, and we especially appreciated the private terrace and hot tub, which weren’t overlooked by other lodges, making it feel peaceful and secluded.We were warmly greeted by Heather, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival was a really nice touch and made the celebration feel extra special.The only slight downside was the intermittent WiFi, but it didn’t take away from what was otherwise a wonderful and relaxing stay. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to return in the future.
