Old Dairy is a charming and tranquil cottage retreat, perfect for those seeking peace and relaxation in a beautiful rural setting. Guests consistently praise the cleanliness, cosy log burner, and well-equipped facilities. The thoughtful touches from the hosts, such as welcome packs with local produce, are frequently mentioned and much appreciated, though not guaranteed. While the remote location and narrow access lanes are noted, they do not detract from the overall experience. The cottage is ideal for couples, families, and dog owners looking for a restful countryside escape.

Guests repeatedly highlight the cottage's exceptional cleanliness, describing it as extremely clean and well-maintained throughout their stay.

The rural and secluded setting is highly valued for its tranquillity and natural beauty. Some guests mention the narrow lanes and hilly walks as minor challenges, but these do not overshadow the peaceful location.

The cottage is described as cosy and relaxing, with a comfortable king-sized bed and a warming log burner. One guest noted the mattress could be improved, but overall comfort is rated very highly.

Facilities are praised for being comprehensive and well thought out, including a secure courtyard for dogs, a log fire, and generous access to the owners' land. The property is well-equipped for self-catering stays.

Guests frequently mention the hosts' thoughtful gestures, such as welcome packs with bread, milk, eggs, scones, and other local produce. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Old Dairy is a beautiful period barn conversion that has been compassionately converted to provide a tasteful and unique holiday home. Old Dairy has retained many original features and has high-quality bespoke furniture and a kitchen and bathroom that are in keeping with the style of the property.

Original beamed, vaulted ceilings with galleried features create a light, airy and spacious feeling whilst the wood burner makes it an appealing rural retreat for cosy winter breaks.

The Park Mill Farm cottages are situated in a magical riverside setting, less than a mile from Chulmleigh centre, with 20 acres of lush fields, woods and parkland where you are free to roam along with the abundant wildlife. From the viewing area on top of the hill with a bench, to the river and lakeside areas, there is plenty to explore.

Chulmleigh is a Saxon hilltop village made up of thatched cottages, traditional pubs and a small collection of independent shops. There is a children’s play park, and dining options consist of three pubs in the town, a cosmopolitan restaurant and an Indian restaurant/takeaway.

Chulmleigh town centre is now a conservation area and the rich grassland found here is home to the largest population of otters in any natural area in England. The area provides access to an abundance of leisure activities including walking, cycling, fishing, golf and horse riding along with several historic houses and gardens in the vicinity.

Guests can enjoy the best of coast and country with Dartmoor and Exmoor nearby, as well as the North Devon coast in one direction and the cathedral city of Exeter in the other, all within an hour’s drive.

Sauna and Cold plunge. A complimentary 45-minute Sauna and cold plunge session is included in your stay. Relax in the Sauna brave the cold plunge or combine the two for an exhilarating experience.

Fishing at Park Mill Farm - "This is an accommodating little river in a lovely Devon valley where time does seem to stand still." Mike Weaver, Trout And Salmon magazine, Feb. 2009.

There are two rivers (The Little Dart and Huntacott) meandering through the grounds and a private fishing lake where guests can enjoy free fly and coarse fishing and catch carp, rudd, chub, roach, brown trout and tench. There is also complimentary fishing on both rivers where brown trout, sea trout and salmon can be caught together with coarse fish.

If you are looking for a nice secluded spot to enjoy a get away from everything for a few days, you won't find much better than this. It is a bit of a hilly walk into the village so if you have any mobility issues, it may be better to make sure you have all your food and drink requirements with you, although the owners had been kind enough to have provided some basic supplies in case we had forgotten anything. For us, the best thing about The Old Dairy was the peace and quiet with only bird song to be heard. This along with a very comfortable king sized bed made for some perfectly relaxed nights sleep, absolute bliss!

What a beautiful cottage! We had such a lovely time, and the log burner was really nice and heated up the space really well.We love a rural location and this was lovely and remote. There is a local shop just a few minutes drive away for essentials. With a baby due soon, and a well needed break away after Christmas, it was the perfect little weekend away.Thank you for the bread, milk, eggs and scones as well 😊 they were a really nice touch.Would definitely recommend.
