About this property
This cottage is located in a tucked away position right in the heart of Croyde village which is famous for its excellent surf and golden sandy beach. The village pubs, cafes and shops are a couple of hundred metres from the cottage and the path to the beach is about 1 mile long. Upon your return, wash off sandy toes and then dip into your private hot tub.
The cottage was originally a Devon farmhouse outbuilding made of characteristic cob construction. It was known as the 'donkey barn' and the 'donkey ramp' has been fondly kept in the garden. The cottage has open-plan living on the ground floor with real wood floors. The living area has two large sofas which provide ample seating space in front of the wood burner, fireplace and TV. The dining table is positioned between the living area and kitchen space, which is well equipped. Underfloor heating is provided throughout to ensure you are cosy and warm on cooler evenings. From the living room, a bi-fold patio door links the cottage to the enclosed garden with a patio, hot tub and BBQ – a welcome outdoor area to further relax after a fun-filled day out and about. There is also a lawn area beyond the sloped donkey ramp. Upstairs, there are three compact bedrooms. There is a super-king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom. The third bedroom has a single bed. The contemporary family bathroom with its heated ceramic tiled floor contains a bath with a shower overhead. An outhouse contains a washer/dryer.
Croyde offers plenty as a holiday destination, a renowned surfing beach backed by sand dunes, plus a good selection of pubs and places to eat out, all set in a picturesque village. The South West Coast Path is close by for keen walkers. If you want further options for beaches, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands are nearby (both under 5 miles). Braunton is the largest town within 5 miles but you also have Ilfracombe (8.5 miles) and Barnstaple (9 miles) close by if you need a change of scenery.
