This lovely ground floor apartment is both spacious and airy and is located under 300 yards away from the serene local beach – the perfect place to enjoy some of the best sunsets in this amazing region. The popular South West coast path is just a few minutes walk from High Tide. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay as a base for discovering North Devon or want a place to simply kick back and relax, then High Tide is just perfect. Accessed via the private car park, the apartment is reached up a flight of stairs and once inside the accommodation is all on one level and comprises two bedrooms (a kingsize and a twin) and a contemporary bathroom with a bath and shower over. The open plan living space includes a comfortable living area with a Smart TV and patio doors leading out into the patio garden, which is on two levels. From here you can sit and enjoy an outdoor meal or evening drink and you can see the sea with Wales in the distance. Back inside, the kitchen/dining area has all you’ll need for your stay. Private parking is also available for up to one car. Within a 5 minute walk there are shops, cafes and pubs.
The surrounding area has many attractions waiting to be discovered, such as the local beach at Combe Martin where you can enjoy the stunning sunsets of the North Devon coast. On the door step is the South West Coast Path too, popular with walkers, and the surrounding area boasts other attractions such as Cairn Woodland Nature Reserve, Watermouth Bay and, the lovely Fuchsia Valley, Watermouth Castle and Theme Park and don’t forget the nearby town of Ilfracombe with its very own harbour and port which dates back to at least the 12th Century. here you can sample quality ice cream, fish and chips and visit various craft shops, plus Damien Hirst’s ‘Verity’ statue, which is a must see. Trips to Lundy Island, coastal cruises, fishing, sea-life safaris and diving are also all available from here. Take a trip on the Ilfracombe Princess and see seals, porpoises and sea birds nesting on the cliffs. Try your hand at sea fishing on Blue Fin or take an exhilarating tour of the amazing coastline on the Ilfracombe Sea Safari or on the Hampshire Rose, a former rnli Lifeboat.
Combe Martin is also perfectly situated to the enjoy the countless other North Devon attractions such as the popular Tarka Trail which provides the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery stretching from Barnstaple through to Bideford and beyond. And then there’s stunning Exmoor National Park with its beautiful night skies, just 6 miles away and Lynton & Lynmouth, 13 miles to the northeast with its incredible sea views, rugged cliffs and amazing funicular cliff railway, which opened in 1890 and is the highest and steepest totally water powered railway in the world! Beach ¼ mile.

High Tide is a very well equiped, well maintained and very clean holiday apartment with a lovely enclosed and secure patio / garden area. Parking is easy. Our host, Steve, was an extremely helpful and 'on hand' host without being in anyway intrusive. The location is fantastic for just walking in and around Combe Martin (which has a good selection of pubs and restaurants), and it has easy access to both the beaches. It's also perfect for touring the wider area of this beautiful part of North Devon and accessing the coastal path. We highly recommend it. Thanks to Steve and Julie for providing an ideal holiday base and being great hosts.
