The cottage was lovely and spacious and what we expected the disappointment was the Garden not really dog friendly one of the main reasons we booked this cottage was weather permitting we could relax and enjoy time in the garden with our dog. Unfortunately the garden is overgrown with foliage which really needs to be cut back, around the garden were various gaps which had been blocked off by bits of wood chairs and on the right near the gate is a trough (which we were made aware of by a previous guest in the visitors book) which is stagnant and not very nice they had put a chair over it but our dog or even a child could have landed in it, had we not known. My wife slipped on the path made of bits of slate and cut her leg when she landed on the decking we could not find a First Aid Box. We just think the issues above could be sorted out in no time therefore making the whole experience up to the standard we have always experienced with Sykes Cottages Dog Friendly Holidays.

Although this is true that one spot is owned by a resident as its in their garden. We had a disabled person who can walk but not too far. The pub car park was only a 1 min walk but we feel this should be clearly stated in the write up as the walk is up quite a steep hill.

The hill to the house is very steep. This is highlighted in the description though. Reccomends not suitable for disabled maybe also the very young. We took our 2 year old who struggled to walk it so needed to be carried or pushed up in pram, both nearly killed me the first 2 days ha ha. A drive would be brilliant but when u see the property you can understand why they don't have a driveway. However hill aside, everything was brilliant. Even had a washing machine which was brill especially having kids and the beach, it's needed!! I would recommend maybe adding a dryer just to go hand in hand with the washer. We found we had the heating on quite a bit just to dry the clothes but was too warm to really have the heating on. But I would come back. Perfect for a nice romantic get away. Brilliant 5 stars
