About this property

Settled just across from the owner's charming home and B&B is this delightful dwelling, The Lodge, offering two guests a wonderful base for adventures across North Devon and Exmoor. This single-storey detached lodge features an open-plan layout and resides near the village of North Molton, within easy reach of both the north and west coasts, as well as South Molton and the Exmoor National Park. After you've parked up in your off-road spot across from the B&B, head round the property to find your quaint home from home for the foreseeable. Be welcomed into an open-plan studio living layout, with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area to the front, with sleeping quarters to the rear. Enjoy relaxing in the evening following a long day by lounging on the spacious sofa and watching TV, with the sofa able to be a sofa bed for any extra guests staying. The kitchen area is small but mighty with the benefit of a two-ring electric hob, fridge/freezer and microwave, more than enough to rustle up some delicious dishes for two to tuck into at the dining table. Dine alfresco out in your own seating area outside in the garden with a lawned area too, perfect for enjoying the sun. Once the evening draws to a close, seek the roomy king-size bed for sleep, with the option of having the zip/link beds made into two singles if required. Step inside the lovely shower room to freshen up, with a large walk-in shower enclosure to enjoy. The amenities of North Molton are around three miles away, with a village shop and a pub offering the essentials. Spend an afternoon enjoying a unique trip to Quince Honey Farm located in the surrounding area with beekeeping demonstrations, the chance to be a beekeeper for the day, honey tasting sessions and guided tours of the farm, not to mention the excellent café and shop serving and selling the delicious honey made on-site. Visit the grand family estate of Arlington Court & Carriage Museum, run by the National Trust, offering stuning views, beautiful gardens and a fascinating museum. Walkers can delight in many excellent areas to explore, with serious walkers sure to enjoy the Cow Castle walk beginning in Simonsbath and covering nine miles, passing amazing sights including Wheal Eliza mining ruins and the highest wood in England, Birch Cleave Wood. Spend the day exploring Exmoor Zoo to see a wealth of animals to admire, including the black leopard or the 'Exmoor Beast', while animal lovers can also visit Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park too. Enjoy days on North Devon's coastline on the beaches of Combe Martin, Ilfracombe, and Lee, or venture west to Woolacombe Beach or Saunton Sands. Make wonderful memories in North Devon at The Lodge.

Alan is a lovely man who will do anything to help his guests. We enjoyed watching the lambs frolicking in the fields all around. We have booked to back again in October and are looking forward to it.

Just what we needed to recharge some very tired batteries and take us away from the world. Very peaceful. Out in the countryside but close to amenities. Alan is such a kind man and assisted in every way when needed. Wish we could have stayed longer. Couldn’t fault the whole experience.
