Guests say

Torrings Barn is a well-received holiday cottage in Devon, praised for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the modern kitchen and bathroom, the proximity to local attractions, and the thoughtful touches from the hosts. While some guests suggest improvements in kitchen equipment and outdoor amenities, the overall experience is positive, with many enjoying the scenic walks and dog-friendly environment.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with several guests highlighting its spotlessness. There is a minor mention of mould in the shower basin, but this seems to be an isolated comment.

The location is generally praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local towns and beaches. Some guests found the narrow lanes challenging, and there were comments about the lack of amenities within walking distance.

Guests find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially for winter breaks. However, there are suggestions that the sofa and mattress could be updated, and the dining arrangements may be better suited for smaller groups.

The facilities are well-regarded, particularly the well-resourced kitchen and good shower. However, there are several comments about the need for additional kitchenware, a more welcoming patio, and issues with broadband/wifi.

The hosts are frequently mentioned for their helpfulness and thoughtful gestures, such as returning a lost toy and providing complimentary goodies. It should be noted that while these gestures are appreciated, they are personal touches and may not be a consistent feature for all guests.

The owners are very helpful if you need anything. The kitchen and bathroom were modern and very clean. The Mattress and the Sofa would need updating for us to stay there again. We had a good week and the weather was fairly kind for October :)

We recommend swapping the small under counter fridge for a tall fridge/freezer as we struggled to cope & there were only 2 of us; a family of 3-4 would equally struggle in our opinion. Lack of basic baking trays for the oven which was disappointing. Sadly no garden/grass of any relevance & despite welcoming a maximum of 2 dogs it would be prudent to install a 'baby gate' or equivalent at the bottom of the stairs to prevent access. Not really 'dog friendly' as too many restrictions to be fair. The painted staircase without any runner of floor covering at all we found somewhat dangerous & nearly slipped a couple of times. The laminated sheet depicting the TV remote controls needs updating! Unfortunately we couldn't access any terrestrial channels so were grateful for the DVD player, No means to open the high level Velux windows & the outside flood light by the parking space didn't work.

Well situated to visit the South Hams beauty spots. Well equipped and generally comfortable though maybe the double mattress could do with replacing. We were able to walk to the local pub via footpaths through the fields. Dog walking in the immediate vicinity restricted to the local lanes but next to no traffic.
