This was our 3rd visit to Dartmouth & tried a different place to stay, this flat had THE most amazing view from its lounge/balcony sliding door window. The view is most definitely the best part of the accommodation, as it should be really…Unfortunately whilst staying at the property, on the second morning there, I fell down the bathroom steps as they are extremely slippery when any kind moisture is in the air. (My partner nearly fell down them in grippy walking boots the following day!) I dried my feet but it didn’t help as I think the gap under the door lets moisture out & onto the steps (Ive broken 3 toes as well as hurting my ankle & my knee!) the bathroom floor doesn’t dry very well & there are no gripper strip edges to any of the uneven width stairs from the bathroom or bedroom, the small left handle & the lack of one at all on the right side doesn’t help matters (cottages.com sent a guy out to photograph the steps & verified they are unsafe & in need of gripper strips as well as an additional handle on the right side & a better handle on the left side). So anyone else please be aware & very careful of coming out of the bathroom down those steps as it severely impacted our holiday & I’ve yet to receive a response from the cottages.com or the owners as to how to deal with or apologise for this incident effecting our holiday. The customer service is severely lacking from both sides as I had to be the one to call & contact everyone after the initial call & I still am the one having to do the chasing! The three stars above is for the exceptional view & the nice kitchen/dining area which came fully equipped (apart from being left dishwasher tablets when there’s no dishwasher?! Ha!) Apart from the obvious steps issue, the flat needs new carpet/or at least a decent carpet shampoo in the lounge area & bedroom as it’s filthy & stained in places, the cushions on the sofa/chairs are grubby & in need of a clean, the tv remote had one battery in it when it needed two - we bought new ones for it (you’re welcome!) & all the steps (as well as needing gripper strips & better safety handles on both the walls) also need the internal supports repaired as they creak terribly!I’m not sure we’ll return to this apartment or use cottages.com again after this visit as it’s been disappointing & painful on all accounts, thank goodness for the view really as if we hadn’t had that we’d of had the worst week away ever.

After 7 years enjoying the apartment, amazing views and great location, we were very disappointed to find there was no parking permit as in previous years. This caused us a lot of stress at the beginning of our holiday. Particularly as park-and-ride is £10 per day. Due to this, we have booked an apartment elsewhere in Dartmouth which has a parking space for next year.
