It is a short walk to the characterful Lower Ferry which takes you quickly to the bustling town of Dartmouth on the opposite side of the river, either on foot or by car. From there you can explore the many shops, visit the historic castle or embark on a scenic river trip. In Kingswear itself, there is a busy Marina, post office, local shop, café, two pubs and of course Kingswear station for the historic and scenic steam train journey to Paignton. The village is a Mecca to the sailing community, with the River Dart being a superb natural harbour, accommodating several marinas and deep-water moorings and the village is the home of the Royal Dart Yacht Club, hosts of the annual Royal Regatta.
