Farthing Cottage is a cosy and characterful eighteenth century farmworkers’ cottage close to the centre of the charming market town of Kingsbridge. Recently, this well-equipped, comfortable cottage has been tastefully modernised and completely refurbished. It has a spacious open plan dining and living room, an adjacent modern kitchen, oodles of hot water for the newly-fitted bathroom, an airy kingsize bedroom and one cosy bunk room, perfect for kids. Outside, on first floor level, there is a sunny patio garden with garden furniture, chimnea and with roof top views over Kingsbridge. Perfectly placed for exploring this idyllic part of South Devon, the cottage adjoins an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is close to a range of fantastic South Devon beaches and the South West Coast Path.
Dartmouth, Salcombe, Plymouth and Dartmoor National Park are all within easy reach, while surfing can be enjoyed at Bantham, golfing at Thurlstone and Bigbury, and bird-watching at Slapton Ley Nature Reserve. Meanwhile, Kingsbridge’s eclectic range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants is right on your doorstep, as are river cruises to Salcombe, watersport opportunities from kayaking to stand up paddle boarding, and indoor and outdoor play facilities for children. This attractive market town has a regular Farmers’ Market and is also home to a number of special events throughout the year, including the Kingsbridge Food and Music Festival in June and the Kingsbridge Show in September.
