About this property

A beautifully furnished, family holiday home enjoying stunning sea views, just 50 metres from the sandy beaches of Hope Cove. The South West Coast Path can be accessed quickly from the house, enjoying stunning walks to South Milton Sands, Thurlestone, Soar Mill Cove and beyond. The village shop, local pub, and bar/restaurant are also within walking distance, making it the perfect location for a coastal break year round.

From a small terrace, the front entrance offers access into a lobby, which opens to the adjacent dining room and large sitting room. On the ground floor, is a well equipped, fully fitted kitchen (including ceramic topped cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine) with a small breakfast table, and doors leading out to the rear terrace. The dining area is adjacent to the kitchen with a large table, and bay window. Also on the ground floor is a light, dual aspect sitting room boasting sea views. The comfortable living space also has a wood burning stove, perfect for cosy evenings by the fireside. There are four bedrooms in total. The master bedroom has a King-size bed with ensuite shower room, and the second double has a super King-size bed with sea views. The third bedroom is a twin room with full-size single beds (which can be zipped together to make a super-King if requested), whilst the fourth bedroom has twin beds. Additionally, there is a first floor bathroom with bath, and shower room on the ground floor. Outside, there is a good sized area of paved terrace to the rear of the house with table/chairs, and barbeque.

The property has a private drive with off-road parking for two cars, with additional road parking in the nearby village. Free Wireless broadband internet is available. Up to two dogs are permitted.

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.

Fortunately resolved next day, glad we has brought logs with us for a very chilly first evening. Great location to watch Storm Nelson, very pleasant 10 minute walk to pubs and shop along the coast path. A separate room where we could feed/dry dogs was very useful. 3 good sized bedrooms but very disappointed with the ensuite bedroom - very small and cramped and the only one with no sea view. We had thought this room would be the best. Please could you place a mirror near an electric socket for hairdryer etc in bedrooms. Random assortment of lids for saucepans, few of which fitted the pans!

Comfortable, well equipped, clean, spacious yet cosy. Fantastic location too! Totally recommended and we would definitely book again. X

Well who needs a television! Perfect for the children and dogs. It has everything you might need for a week stay. Only one point that could have made it easier for the week would have been some sharp kitchen knives.
