Rose Cottage is a deceptively spacious, yet quaint cottage just outside of the towns of Kingsbridge and Salcombe. A fantastic accommodation for family get togethers, sleeping up to 11 in the peace and quiet, while just a stone’s throw from the main towns.. 1 step to entrance.

Private parking for 4 cars; additional on road parking. No smoking.. Rose Cottage is an idyllic, semi-detached, rural property set within the beautiful Devonshire countryside. Ideally located just a few miles from Salcombe and the south west coastline, the area offers an array of sandy beaches, coastal walks and breath-taking scenery. Rose Cottage is a two-storey property providing the perfect sleeping arrangements for families and large groups. On the ground floor is a spacious open plan kitchen/dining area which leads out through French doors to the private garden area, where you can enjoy outdoor seating and a barbecue. The kitchen is fully functional with a traditional oil-fired Aga, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. The living room comprises plenty of seating with a piano and a traditional wood burner. The fully equipped utility room comprises a washing machine, tumble dryer, toilet and sink. Upstairs there are four bedrooms and one family bathroom. There are three kingsize rooms, two with an en-suite, and a family room with a double bed with single bunk over, and an additional two single beds. The front garden at Rose Cottage is a lovely area, filled with various plants and of course, beautiful roses.

We had a lovely week in this beautiful cottage! Only a 10 min drive from Salcombe and Kingsbridge. Nice spacious living room and kitchen. Lovely welcoming host, thank you very much!

This should be marketed as Rose Farm (cottage), which is it. Property was a little too rural for us. The dogs in the adjoining property, (which you can't see on the photos) were rather vocal even at 2.15 a.m. and at times would come to the kitchen window to bark at us. Please don't be deceived by the pictures, the kitchen is extremely tired and the garden/roses are neglected. We found a dirty downstairs toilet, kitchen floor was dirty, items in kitchen cupboards had left over marks (possibly previous tenants). There were stains on one of the bed sheets and on mattress protector of another bed. Stair gates didn't have sufficient accessories for mounting to wall, so owner had to quickly provide extra blocks. Nothing to prevent our grandson from getting by the Aga, which was on. The fireguard is not adequately secured on the right hand side of fireplace and doesn't cover the entire depth of the hearth, so also a concern with a two year old in our party. The owners post and courier deliveries were arriving on almost a daily basis. All in all, it was very stressful for us and for the money we paid we were all sad and disappointed to the point that our eldest son, partner and grandson left 2 days early. Our money certainly goes further in Dorset which is where we will be returning in future.

Our party was 5, plus Archie our dog. Three of us with Archie were from UK and two from USA. We were all impressed with the comfort, cleanliness and location, being in a very quiet spot, with walks from the property. It was everything we needed to enjoy catching up and spending time together.Only small criticism is the access to the site parking is very tight to access in a family SUV. A small issue in an otherwise good holiday.
