The open-plan kitchen and dining space is a sociable heart to the home. Seating eight with ease, it flows out to a private balcony where you can dine al fresco on local seafood with the estuary as your backdrop. Down the hall, a utility cupboard houses everything needed for longer stays - washing machine, dryer, and essentials neatly tucked away.
The top floor offers an expansive sitting room, where floor-to-ceiling glass doors invite in the ever-changing light and open out to a second waterside terrace. Sink into the deep sofas with a glass of wine or drift out to the balcony to watch the last boat of the day ripple through the still water.
Each of the four bedrooms has been thoughtfully dressed with calming tones, luxurious linens, and stylish furnishings to encourage deep rest after days exploring the South Hams and the neighbouring coastline destinations.

The Finest Stays Team
We had the loveliest stay at 1 The Boatyard, it’s one of those places that instantly makes you slow down and breathe a little deeper. Waking up to the sound of the water and watching the boats and paddleboarders drift by, with our coffee in hand was the perfect start to the day. From the doorstep, it was an easy stroll into Kingsbridge where we browsed the independent shops and picked up some local treats. The highlight was hopping on the Rivermaid ferry straight from the quay — a peaceful cruise along the estuary to Salcombe, where we had a long, lazy lunch and a bit more shopping in the sunshine. Back at the house, everything felt calm, luxurious, and beautifully put together. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design — it’s stylish without being fussy, and has everything you need to properly relax. It really was the perfect base for a dreamy South Devon weekend.
