About this property

A traditional cottage with spectacular views across the river DartA traditional cottage with spectacular views across the river Dart

Every inch the traditional Devon cottage, Little Elm’s all about sitting back and watching the boats gliding their way along the river Dart. With views you won’t be able to peel your gaze from, this home from home welcomes pets, and it’s a homely choice for a break for two.

The open plan kitchen and dining space has everything you need to relax and cook up those hearty brunches and diners whilst simply enjoying your time together, every now and then you’ll hear a toot and see a puff of steam as the steam train makes its way by alongside the estuary’s edge. Speaking of being outside, the decked area to the front of the cottage makes the perfect spot to sit in the sun and admire the view and what better place to sip on a glass of something chilled after an invigorating walk?

Just across the water from Dartmouth, the village of Kingswear makes a picturesque base for a break in the South Hams. You’ll be able to hop onto a ferry and cross the Dart to explore the historic naval town of Dartmouth with its cobbled streets, quirky shops and friendly pubs, or pick up the steam railway from Kingswear itself and chug your way to nearby Torbay.

...space. The atmosphere is more home than holiday let. The designated parking space is a bonus. We enjoyed the sitting room view across the railway line (with just a few runs a day of the steam train), the marina, the estuary and finally the Naval College. And at night it all looks very attractive with all the lights. The lower ferry is close by, but it's also a pleasant walk along the railway line to the upper ferry which is much cheaper if you want to frequently walk across to Dartmouth to all the shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed the walk through the woods up to Greenway - you could always get the train or ferry back. Lovely coastal walks west and east of Dartmouth as well.
