This stunning newly built boathouse which sits right on the waters edge is simply perfect for a couple.
Nestled in the trees along the foreshore of East Portlemouth, you are moments away from sandy beaches and exploring peaceful creeks.
When it comes to special locations, few deliver quite like Horsepool Boathouse. Nestled into the foreshore trees, this exquisite boathouse sits right on the waterfront of the Salcombe-Kingsbridge estuary. With incredible panoramic views you could sit for hours taking in the ever changing scenery and watery environment.
From your car parking area, walk down through the leafy canopy and into the first floor of the boathouse. Inside, you will find modern design that’s stylish, sophisticated but also welcoming and relaxed. You will be instantly blown away by the panoramic views across the water from the open plan kitchen, dining and comfortable seating area.
The boathouse is in an elevated position which means you can fully appreciate the estuary views. Sliding doors lead out onto the terrace making for a joyful indoor/outdoor living experience in the summer months as well as dramatic winter vistas. On cooler evenings, light the log burner and enjoy being snuggled up in your private lookout.
Downstairs you’ll find the bedroom (with super king bed) and probably the best bath on the estuary with views over the creek whilst you soak and relax! Black out blinds in the bedroom ensure a peaceful nights sleep. An en suite shower room and separate WC complete the ground floor.
Outside there is a triple kayak (for the two of you plus space for a woofer!) and buoyancy aids for guest use. Setting off from the boathouse to explore the estuary is a very special privilege. Find unexplored creeks, or head to one of the many sandy beaches along the coastline. Or even paddle over to Salcombe town to pick up fresh croissants and a coffee in the morning. As the tide ebbs away, you can also enjoy walking along the foreshore to empty beaches or to the popular Millbrook Inn or Port Waterhouse for barbecues and music.
Horsepool Boathouse is a destination in its own right; the location delivers total tranquility and the sea is only a couple of steps away for the very best adventures.
In the winter months, the boathouse is naturally warm inside being insulated to the highest standard. There is underfloor heating (fed by an air source heat pump) everywhere and a wood burning stove so it really is quite toasty even when there are freezing temperatures and howling gales outside!
One well behaved dog welcome at the discretion of the owner and an additional charge per week.
Please note that there are 36 steps from the parking area down to the boathouse.
Please note this property is not suitable for children
