Rockside is a charming pet-friendly house in the town of Salcombe, situated in the popular county of Devon. This property is perfect for a group of friends or a family as it boasts sea views to admire, open-plan living, skylight windows in the second-floor bedroom and is a short drive from the beach. Walk up the steps and walk into your new holiday abode to meet the lovely open-plan living area. Be the first to claim the corner of the sofa or choose the armchair as you sink into the furniture, as you get into the holiday spirit. In the kitchen area, you will find everything you need for a self-catered stay.
Make the most out of the electric oven and hob to cook up a treat that will catch everyone’s attention. Plate it up on the dining table to share some laughs together as you tuck into dinner. If the sun is shining, then be sure to go outside into the front garden patio to dine alfresco. Sit on the garden table and chairs, or be the chef of the group and take over the barbecue. When the evening sky draws near, head back inside to find something to watch on the Smart TV for evening entertainment. Once a yawn creeps in, call it a night on one of the three neatly presented bedrooms.
On the first floor, there is a king-size and a bunk bed on offer, with another king-size on the second floor that has skylight windows for you to admire the views from. In the mornings, start your day off just right with a refreshing shower or have a soak in the inviting bath before planning the day ahead. A shop and pub are on your doorstep for any essentials or a drink out. In Salcombe, go on a guided tour through the National Trust's Overbecks Gardens, enjoy a day on the beach with the waves rippling against your toes or go on the invigorating Salcombe to Bolt Head Walk.
Visit the iconic Winking Prawn at North Sands for a beachside lunch, Salcombe Gin and Devon Rum are on your doorstep in Island Street and the town centre is a short stroll along Victoria Quay leading to shops, boutiques, delicatessens and much more. A holiday that will live long in the memory awaits at Rockside.
Salcombe is a popular destination for walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea and was once a major port. There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. You can also take the small ferry across the estuary to the beaches of East Portlemouth, and a walk to Gara Rock. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including sailing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.
