Had a lovely break in Stoke Gabriel. My brother and sister in law joined me and my daughter and we all had a lovely time. House very spacious and fully equipped. Some lovely treats left for us on arrival. We know the village well and the pubs, Emma’s restaurant and of course the River Shack are firm favourites! Car parking quite tight near the house but the car parking permit came in very handy. Thanks Gareth for being a great host.

Had a lovely week at the Barnhay with my family. Great location - just a few miles from several seaside towns, although the roads around the village are a bit narrow in places especially in a people carrier (obviously this is no-ones fault). The village itself is quiet, friendly and in a beautiful setting overlooking the mill pool. We had a great time Crabbing down by the quay just a short walk down the hill.We made good use of the local bus service into Paignton that runs several times a day, and we ate at the castle inn a few times where we had delicious meals.Although we ate out a lot, this was a choice as the kitchen is very well equipped, even including measuring spoons, and the welcome pack we received was fab - much better than I expected (previously welcome packs have been a few basics - this was not basic at all) and the house had the basics as well.Although there's no tumble dryer, there is a retractable washing line in the courtyard garden, which we threaded through the loop on the stairs to give us double the length - there were enough pegs in the drawer to do this, ensuring that the full laundry loads got dried in good time. Our holiday next year will probably be fewer people meaning we probably won't have the need for such a generously sized property, sadly, but I wouldn't hesitate to book here again if we needed the capacity

The house is in a great central position with fabulous views over the Mill Pond. The house is very quiet and comfortable and has everything that you could possibly need. This was our second stay.
