The Smithy glamping pods are quirky, one-bedroom log cabins, sleeping up to four guests, boasting off road parking and private seating areas. Outside is fully enclosed, giving you your own secure area for your dog.. All on the

Private parking for 1 car. 2 pets welcome, to be attended in the property and garden at all times. No smoking.. The Smithy glamping pods are fully equipped newly built lodges in the semi-rural area of Dainton, outside of Newton abbot. Situated on the owners smallholding and with beautiful countryside views. The owners are also happy to give guided tours where they are able.
As you enter the lodge through the French doors, you find yourself in the open kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with electric oven, electric hob and fridge/freezer. The living/dining area benefits from dining table and chairs, a sofa bed as additional sleeping and a TV. The bedroom contains a kingsize bed with wall mounted TV and en-suite shower room. The lodge has a lovely small decked and patio area to the front where guests can sit out and relax on the two zero-gravity garden chairs, looking out across the fields with various animals
There are many local restaurants with great food located relatively nearby, including pubs with their famous 2 in 1 pies. Whether you are wanting to visit the area for the countryside walks or the stunning coastal walks and beaches nearby, these peaceful retreats will be a great base to start to explore the English Riviera and South Hams with all it has to offer. Beautiful relaxing location. Glamping pod more spacious than expected. Had everything we needed. Owners Deb and Andy great hosts. So much to see and do within easy drive. We stayed for 11 nights would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed a generous welcome at the Smithy and a week visiting many nearby attractions. Debra and Andy are happy to chat and help but respect the privacy of their guests.The pods are tucked away down a tiny cul de sac and therefore a bit difficult to find but they are well provisioned. They might be a bit of a challenge for tall guests in the kitchen area. Note that frequent trains pass the boundary of the property.

Fantastic place especially if you have dogs as very secure. The owners/hosts are very accommodating & friendly & even supply you with eggs & milk it really is home from home & everything you need is there. Highly recommended, we will definitely be going back next year.
