The Ness headland watches over the mouth of the estuary, offering some of the most stunning views in the West Country. You’ll be delighted by the estuary, river beach, and the famous Shaldon ferry which plies the river to Teignmouth. The nearby zoo is also well worth a visit.

Peaceful location with lovely views. Very well equipped and spacious. We enjoyed local walks from the doorstep and board games on wet afternoons. Devon is hilly and the roads are a challenge for us city types - but we knew that before arriving. The alpacas were a daily delight. The local ferry was fun and we had a great meal out at The Ness. There is an excellent circular walk that can be accessed just down from the cottage in one of the many information books provided

A fantastic week at New Barn Reservoir despite the variable weather. The house was in a beautiful position, completely private with lovely views and a field of alpacas to keep us company. Very peaceful and quiet with dark skies to view the lunar eclipse and spectacular stars yet only a short walk/drive to pubs/cafes/supermarkets and beaches - it really gave us the best of both worlds. The house itself was very well equipped, spacious and comfortable we immediately felt "at home" Thank you Joyce and Brian for a lovely relaxing holiday in your very special unusual property - thoroughly recommended.
