Woodbury is a detached bungalow is situated on the hill above Teignmouth town centre, in a quiet residential area. A homely base, it is excellent for families all year round. From the steep driveway, head up a few steps into the hall, and from there into the sitting room arranged over an L-shape with dining area, a gas fire and amazing sea views across the bay. The kitchen is well equipped for preparing family meals. After spending a day on the beach, a good night's sleep is sure to be enjoyed in the three comfortable bedrooms.
The small enclosed gardens to front and back are beautifully cared for and full of flowers, with a lawn and patio area for lighting the barbecue and dining around the outdoor table. For essentials, you have a shop just 100 yards away, or head down into Teignmouth for a wide range of shops, a theatre and pubs by the water.When you’re ready to discover more of South Devon, there’s no shortage of fantastic days out nearby. In Teignmouth, wander along the traditional Teignmouth Pier, take in the sweeping sea views from Ness Beach, or enjoy a peaceful stroll through the vibrant Teignmouth Back Beach area dotted with colourful boats and cafés.
Over in Westwood, you can explore the beautiful walking trails and woodlands that define this tranquil corner of Devon, uncover local history at Compton Castle, or enjoy the serenity of nearby country parks and gardens. Meanwhile, Paignton offers family fun at the award-winning Paignton Zoo, classic seaside charm along Paignton Pier, and the chance to hop aboard the Paignton to Kingswear Steam Railway for a scenic ride through the stunning South Devon countryside. Woodbury is a central base for all kinds of fun activities.
The historic, seaside town of Teignmouth is situated in South Devon on the mouth of the Teign estuary and boasts a working harbour, sandy beach, Victorian pier, sailing club, diving centre and sea activity centre. The seaward side of the town is known as ‘the Den’ and has elegant Georgian buildings, a large public area with lawns, play areas, tennis courts, a bowling green, and a miniature lighthouse. On the opposite side of Teignmouth are fishing boats and beach huts, plus views of the village of Shaldon and the hills of Dartmoor can be seen. Teignmouth also hosts folk and jazz festivals each year, whilst both the town and Shaldon hold annual carnivals and water regattas. If you decide to venture further afield, there is plenty to see and do close to Teignmouth including; the stunning Dartmoor National Park, the city of Exeter, plus the nearby harbour towns are well worth exploring.
