Amidst the bucolic beauty of the Hartland Peninsula, this appealing bolthole invites two guests to enjoy some quality time filled with sightseeing, hiking, beach trips and cosy nights at home. Within reach of Devonshire and Cornish attractions, and just 2.5 miles from the South West Coast Path, you can fill your days with ample adventures throughout a long or short stay, always earning those relaxing nights in spent curled up with the wood burner gently blazing away. Undisturbed by others, this cottage is a detached abode that’s hidden quietly away amongst similar accommodation choices, complete with its own rear garden and plenty of space to unwind indoors.
Follow winding, tree-lined streets and park directly outside this charming barn conversion. Once indoors, you’ll feel instantly warm and welcomed in the open-plan lounge/diner, a space with a wood burner in the corner to always keep things snug during mealtimes and evenings of relaxation. As you step into the kitchen you’ll notice heating underfoot, ideal when preparing a hearty breakfast first thing in the morning. You can choose to dine either indoors or out, moving into the enclosed garden with outdoor furniture when the sun shines. Back inside, venture up to the beautiful double bedroom on the first floor, a room sat beneath characterful beams with delightful views – served by a well-appointed shower room.
Get to know the Hartland Heritage Coast, a delectable AONB that’s centred around the handsome Hartland Abbey and Gardens (3 miles). Explore here before wandering to Hartland (2 miles) and dipping into a country pub. Moving towards the water’s edge, discover never-ending beauty as you explore the coastal path both ways, moving up towards the Speke’s Mill Mouth Waterfall (4 miles) or down towards Welcombe Mouth Beach (5 miles).
