The floor to ceiling windows and large private balcony running across the living area will ensure you make the most of this exclusive location.
This is a reverse-level duplex with the bedrooms and the bathrooms on the main floor and open plan living/dining/kitchen space on the first floor, accessed by a staircase of 23 steps. This property has allocated parking with a lift to the apartment.
Westward Ho!, a few minutes flat walk from the apartment, offers an array of seaside amenities, quaint streets, colourful architecture and fascinating curiosity shops. The beach in front of the apartment is known as the Golden Bay, whilst the South West Coastal Path also runs through Westward Ho! – a must for keen cyclists and walkers - plus swimming, surfing, canoeing and fishing are all close by. The Tarka Trail is also in close proximity, providing the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line amidst some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery.
For a day with a difference take a trip across to Lundy Island, home to England’s first statutory Marine Nature Reserve due to its unique flora and fauna. Measuring just 3 miles by ¾ mile, this entire island has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The apartment is a brilliant space and it has been furnished and equipped to a high specification. There were a few minor annoyances like the reclining sofa footrest being slightly broken, which made it awkward to put away. The cleanliness of the sofa was also questionable after we wiped it with a wet wipe to find that the wipe had gone a dark grey after one wipe. Whilst I was there the air extraction system in the bedrooms and bathrooms wasn't working either which meant having to leave windows open during the day to ventilate the rooms. I personally wasn't concerned about the safety risk this could pose due to communal sense of Westward Ho!. The town was great and is capable of sustaining visitors for a couple of days without having to leave and find larger shops for food and drinks.The best element of the trip was the location right on the sea front. To be able to leave the apartment build Ind and be in the sea pool in less the 2 minutes was fantastic and the 10 minute walk to the beach to be able to surf was amazing 🤩! The staff in the Ho Surf shop were so welcoming and helpful. Overall it was thoroughly worthwhile and I would definitely go back and stay in Sand Dunes again.

Despite the weather we had a great week in Westward Ho! This Was our third stay in Sand Dunes it’s a lovely apartment with fantastic views across Westward Ho! The patio furniture let it down two of the chairs were broken and very dangerous rusted/ corroded & come apart and the table has seen better days. Saying this it didn’t spoil the holiday if the weather had been better it may have done as you couldn’t use the furniture, the apartment is very comfortable and is well equipped apart from the outside furniture. We loved our stay.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay at Sand Dunes and would recommend / stay again. We were a little unlucky with the weather, being quite cool and very windy for May, keeping us from enjoying the balcony. We could still enjoy walks along the beach front and the fab views via the large windows & glass doors.The apartment is well equipped & comfortable. The apartment block (communal areas) was bright, clean and quiet during our stay. The parking felt secure and was well signed, if a little tight for larger cars (or if large van in next bay, which happened to us). The beds are comfy and linens crisp & fresh. We would have liked more towels (towels were only placed on the double bed, not the 3 single beds).The location is great & it's easy to get to Barnstaple, Appledore, Instow, Bideford etc., if you avoid rush hour. Westward Ho! is small (part of the attraction!) but does have a Tesco & Londis for supplies.Dogs are allowed, which is good, but be aware dogs not allowed on the balcony, nor on the main beach during May to Sept (are allowed on the beach if you walk a mile down the front).Overall, we really enjoyed our short stay, and would recommend it to others, including with family.
