Dartfordleigh House, a historic hunting lodge built in 1890, is a fantastic location for a large family or group of 12's staycation in Devon. When you arrive, you will be met with generous off-road parking for six cars, allowing you to ease without fuss into your new home-away-from-home. Inside to find the ornate sitting room, where soft sofas welcome you to take a seat in front of the toasty woodburning stove; switch on the Smart TV to stream your favourite show or enjoy a movie or board game with friends.

If you want to relax in a quieter setting, make your way to the adjacent library offering a great selection of books for you to choose from. When you're hungry, head to the kitchen, which is equipped with all of the appliances you'll need, such as an oil-fired range cooker and large fridge/freezer and is where the group's chef can whip up delectable dishes for all to enjoy. These treats can be enjoyed in the formal dining room; a perfect spot for that special meal or celebration. When you've had your fill of sightseeing, retire to one of the six tastefully decorated bedrooms, one of which is a twin on the ground floor with access to a superb en-suite bathroom.

Continue upstairs to discover five additional bedrooms, including a king-size with a four poster bed, with en-suite shower room and connecting access to a twin, as well as a double with an en-suite bathroom, and two more doubles enjoying en-suite shower rooms; all of the bedrooms have TVs, for added convenience. A small lawn can be found at the back of the property, where ball games may be played, and your furry friends can stretch their legs. A pub is located a short distance away in the East Dart Hotel and you'll find a small post office and local stores just across the road.

Superb walking and hiking are available from the door, explore the charming Wistman's Wood, or cycle along Drake's Trail's beautiful scenery. A short drive to Princetown and you'll find a brewery, cafés, a pleasant pub, and the Dartmoor Prison Museum. The market towns of Chagford and Moretonhampstead, both with an outdoor swimming pool, gorgeous churches, and bespoke independent shops are a must-see. A little farther away is Plymouth, a lively port city with a plethora of family-friendly activities ranging from the National Marine Aquarium, the famous Hoe, and an Art Deco Lido, to the National Trust Property of Saltram. If you're looking for additional outdoor experiences, visit Dartmoor National Park, or if you prefer a day in the city, Exeter is a picturesque drive away and offers a variety of activities.

Princetown is a charming little village nestled between Yelverton and Moretonhampstead in the Dartmoor National Park. The community is noted for its rich history, with Dartmoor Prison going back to the Napoleonic Wars and Arthur Conan Doyle writing Sherlock Holmes in the area. The ancient landmarks of Roos Tor, Pew Tor, and Foggintor Quarry are all accessible from the town, which visitors may explore before stopping for a bite to eat at The Prince of Wales Pub or Fox Tor Café.
