From here, watch dinghies, sailboats, paddleboards, and kayaks drift by, making it an inspiring scene for artists. The estuary also provides opportunities for fishing, and nearby rivers and lakes offer further angling spots, making it one of the best locations for fishing in the South West. Tavistock, a short drive away, boasts striking architecture, markets, and varied cuisine, from The Cornish Arms’ Michelin Bib Gourmand to St Mellion’s Michelin-starred Crocadon Green. Golfers are spoilt for choice with Tavistock’s two courses and the highly regarded St Mellion and Yelverton courses, both ranked among the UK’s top 100.
