We gave average for cleaning due to the fact that some surfaces were quite dusty, window sills had dead spiders and flies on them, some plug holes had matted hair in them and the toilet at the back of the kitchen had not been cleaned for a while. We also found a smashed glass in the bathroom cabinet of bedroom 2 on arrival where two of the grandchildren would be sleeping. Last year the property was spotless. That said all beds were all made up lovely and clean and very comfortable. Kitchen was very clean and well equipped. The property is is very spacious and homely and comfortable. The four grandchildren and adults loved the tennis court, woods and stream. The location is very quiet and peaceful. We all loved the big dinning room for family meals. Only a short walk to Lydford gorge, Devils cauldron. The caretaker was very helpful regarding two issues which were dealt with promptly. This was are second visit and would certainly consider going back as all eleven of us love the place and surroundings.

Lovely property, beautifully modernised with high end equipment, although did have signs of age/wear and tear, as you might expect. My wife got stuck in the bathroom (bed 1), as she closed the door and was unable to open from inside. It is quite remote so transport needed to get to shops and we were unable to find a local take-away that delivered. Gardens down to the stream and over the bridge to village and moors and local farms which my grandchildren loved
