Little Fern is an attractive one-bedroom self catering property, peacefully situated on a working farm in West Devon near Okehampton on the North-Western fringes of Dartmoor National Park. The property is annexed from the friendly owner’s home and is based on the ground floor. The property is located just 10 minute drive from Okehampton and a 50 minute drive from the beaches on the Northern and Southern coast. Head into the cosy open plan living, dining and kitchen area which feels homely and inviting. The kitchen is well equipped with everything needed to prepare a home-cooked meal including an electric cooker, slimline dishwasher, microwave and an under-counter fridge with an icebox. The living area offers a relaxing sanctuary after a busy day exploring, comfortably furnished with a sofa, Smart TV with Freeview and an electric wood burner. To complete the accommodation, the bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room with a shower cubicle, heated towel rail, toilet and sink. A door opens out from the living area to the fully enclosed garden which has a bistro table and chairs; the perfect sun trap to enjoy your morning coffee. For all essentials, take a drive into the town of Okehampton, where you will find shops, eateries and pubs to suit all tastes.There’s also a train station with trains running daily into Exeter, an independent cinema, leisure centre and a glorious park criss crossed with riverside walks. For a little culture, explore the museum or the second oldest Norman Castle in the county. For those feeling active there are many excellent walking and cycle routes nearby including the Two Castles Trail, and the Granite Way.The National Trusts Lydford Gorge is well worth a visit as are the sandy beaches of North Cornwall, which can be easily reached. Central and close to the A30, Little Fern is ideally located for touring both Devon and Cornwall.

Little Fern is ideally suited to explore the charming north Devon coast and countryside and there is so much to see and do from your holiday home. Access to the Granite Way cycle path is just a couple of minutes drive away and the starting point for the popular 180 mile Tarka Trail route is just ten minutes drive away, incorporating one of the country’s longest continuous traffic-free walking and cycling paths. The breathtaking Dartmoor National Park is within a few minutes drive. There is fabulous surfing on the North Cornwall & North Devon Coast with beautiful beaches at Woolacombe, Croyde, Bude and Sandymouth. Enjoy a day out at Hartland, visit the lighthouse, Hartland Quay and the historic fishing village at Clovelly. The Eden Project can be enjoyed within an hour’s drive, but even closer to your accommodation are Okehampton Castle, Meldon Reservoir, Roadford Lake, the RHS gardens at Torrington, Dingles Fairground and Lydford Gorge. This delightful property provides a comfortable base where you can relax amongst the Devon countryside.
