With Tavistock’s interesting shops, restaurants and leisure centre within easy reach, this is an excellent family house for holidays. Take the flight of steps up to the front door and on the ground floor is a cosy snug where you can relax with the TV or iPod dock, then wander through to the kitchen with dining area to prepare family meals as you enjoy views over the town from the bi-fold French windows. The sitting room with wood burning stove is another relaxing space with second TV to avoid family squabbles.
Head upstairs to find the four bedrooms, with the luxury of an en suite bathroom with the master double, as well as another bathroom and small study. The lawn garden is a pretty space with flower beds and barbecue and furniture for alfresco meals. Stroll into Tavistock’s heart for all sorts of amenities, or head to Plymouth for city lights. There is excellent walking and cycling around the area, and plenty of National Trust gems to visit like Cotehele and Buckland Abbey. Cartref is a comfortable house for visiting Devon attractions or venturing further to Cornwall.
