The Cow Shed in Blandford Forum is praised for its peaceful setting, ideal location for exploring Dorset, and comfortable accommodation. Guests appreciate the local walks, dog-friendly environment, and the nearby pub. Some concerns over TV/internet issues and heating controls were noted, alongside compliments for the well-equipped kitchen and the enclosed garden.
Reviews indicate a mix of experiences with cleanliness. Some guests found the property to be in need of a deeper clean, mentioning cobwebs, crumbs, and dust. However, there were no consistent reports of severe uncleanliness, suggesting that while improvements could be made, the overall state is satisfactory.
The location is highly praised for its quietness, accessibility to local attractions, and the availability of walks and a friendly pub nearby. It serves as a great base for exploring the wider Dorset area.
Guests find The Cow Shed comfortable, with a cosy wood burner, enclosed garden for pets, and a peaceful atmosphere. Some minor comments about the lounge seats being small and low, but overall the comfort level is high.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good layout. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as the TV/internet connection, heating, and a broken fridge freezer. These issues suggest that while the facilities are adequate, there is room for improvement in their maintenance.
The host's thoughtfulness is noted in the provision of a welcome bottle of wine and beers, which was well-received. However, it is important to note that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary per stay.

We had a awesome time at the cowshed, The accommodation is excellent. Very cosy with the lovely wood burner, also great for our two dogs with a very safe enclosed garden and walks right on the doorstep. The village is beautiful. Pub 4 minute walk serves lovely food. Chris the owner has done an amazing job with this property and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. We are booking up again for next year

we enjoyed staying at the cowshed. It was a lovely chocolate box village with a friendly pub. Walks for the dogs was great. Plenty of places nearby to visit. The only drawback was that the TV was only run by internet and it was constantly buffering. It took 3 hours to watch a 1hour show. So we gave up and didn't watch tv all week. Not a bad thing really . Chris the owner was very helpful and friendly.

Spent an hour and a half trying to get the TV to work. No instructions in the information pack. When it was working, the internet connection was poor and constantly buffered. Finally contacted host (Chris) on final day of holiday and he said he would sort it out. He did not get back to us. Heating was not working on arrival. No instructions in the information pack. Eventually found the boiler control panel (hidden behind ironing board in cupboard). Both water and heating had been set to OFF. Location of cottage good for exploring the south of Dorset.
